When Toshiro was still a Rukongai runt he used to often get beaten up by the older kids of his specific district due to his “ freakish “ appearance. One day, Hinamori had witnessed one of the bouts and immediately when to his aid – Getting the other kids to back off. She was well-liked, thus they obliged to her requests. That’s how they initially met and he’s sworn, since that very moment, to protect her as she has protected and accepted him. 

When Hinamori is bedridden in her room, either by sickness or an injury, he’ll occasionally bring some of his paperwork there to work on whilst keeping her company and tending, assisting her with anything that she may need. Especially when Shinji is occupied with other affairs. 

Toshiro once baked Hinamori a Cake for her Birthday and had used Salt instead of Sugar – Unbeknownst of his mistake, he left it atop her desk. And she, being the kind soul that she is, took a bite, torturing her poor tongue, and decided to keep it from him as to not harm his pride. But alas, Rangiku, in the end, told him.

Filled with Determination, Toshiro now practices his baking techniques, in the solitary confinement of his private quarters, to rectify them for the next time he bakes one for her. Wanting it to be as perfect as she was. – There are times that he’d even ask his female acquaintances, alike Peach, for example, to teach him the most accurate ways of making one.

When it thunderstorms outside – Hinamori tends to find him in his office – it’s to the point he’s come to anticipate due to her fear of thunder – she’ll ask him, sometimes it’ll slip her mind to even bother if she could cuddle up to him until the storm passes. And oftentimes he allows her if the paperwork he is working on isn’t too pressing. It was an intimate moment which brought him positive nostalgia from the times they were young and not contaminated by the world’s cruelty.

While Leonardo, his pet turtle, is initially his – He shares ownership with Hinamori who is more often than not taking care of him. Having far more free time than him and more knowledge on how to take care of turtles. The thought of them being somewhat parents together gives him butterflies and adorns his cheeks roseate tones. Albeit he’s an expert in hiding it. – He also trusts her judgment which results in him asking Kensei for help when he crucially needs a turtle-sitter. 

Toshiro introduced Slushies to Hinamori, which quickly became one of her favorite beverages. Therefore, he’d occasionally make her handmade ones, substituting shaved Ice, and in her favorite flavor. – since they’re not too difficult to make.

When they watch any sort of Horror shows, movies, games. E.T.C She’d always get so easily scared. Hence to be a butt-face – He’d purposely scare her by random jumpscares – Or telling her that the stories are true and one of the monsters will be at the foot of her bed when she sleeps.  Which makes her angry – and results in them sharing a futon.

One of the most important facts is that no matter what they went through together and separately, they never allowed it to deter their friendship which only became stronger and stronger with each passing year. – And soon it will transcend to something far more special and worth fighting for.

He likes to read her poems, her stories – and look through her drawings when he is able. often left in awe by her talents. He’s so proud of her achievements. Of how matured she’s become – and will always do his best to support her in spite of his many blunders. He loves her.

A few hours ago he had just learned of the existence of Shinigami’s and to make matters more mindblowing they seem to have their own world separate from Assiah. Said world was called Soul Society which is the one he entered from a ‘back door’ Mephisto made. All he had to do was get the weapon that a citizen made and bring it to Mephisto. Seem’s that the Shinigami don’t like ‘unannounced guests’ as he could hear people chasing after him. He really hopes they're not faster than him.

“great!” she beams up at him, pointing at a nearby picnic table for him to take a seat. when he’s seated (taking his sweet damn time), she places it in front of him, gently opening the in front of his scrutinizing gaze. it’s one of those modern two-layered ones, and she unhooks the first layer free to display the contents of both. the lower layer is stuffed with cold-baked salmon drizzled with soy, steamed sticky rice, and crisp veggies. the second has her personal favorites - a section of tempura chicken, a variety of sushi balls, and candied yams, set aside with a sealed container of miso and tofu soup.

“you never told me what kind of food you liked, and since you’re helping me out all of the time, I thought I’d thank you with a meal.” she sits across from him, procures two chopsticks that materialize out of nowhere, offering him a pair.

¿ - Happy headcanon / ♥ - Love headcanon :^)!!

¿  Happy headcanon:

Whilst Hiyori loves cooking- her true passion is fighting.

Hiyori is happiest when she’s in the midst of battle. She enjoys fighting and nothing gets her blood pumping than using her blade to fight and protect her friends. All that aggression she has, it can finally be put into the right place.

So... that is why... she’s the first to leap into a fight.

In addition, Hiyori is an incredible fighter. She was the one that taught Ichigo how to master his hollow and how to call the hollow voluntarily without losing your own mental control in the process. This is because, as volatile as Hiyori is- the moment her hollow attacked Shinji, she felt nothing more than shame.

This is the one thing a hollow cannot feel- that is why she was able to remain somewhat conscious when Aizen started berating Shinji about it all being his fault. Over time, she learned how to separate herself from her hollow and also to call upon its power at will. 

♥  Love headcanon:

WHY WOULD YOU?!?!

Hiyori... obviously has not much luck in the romantic love department. She doesn’t look attractive and has a foul temper. She probably nursed a very teensy crush on Kisuke, back when she was (hiyori vc: “FUCKIN’ DUMB!”) a lieutenant, because she still worked with him and was quite easily flattered by his reliance on her.

However, she probably never did anything about it. He was close with Yoruichi who had gorgeous cappuccino skin and curves everywhere... so yeah. She wasn’t an idiot.

And she still isn’t.

She’s very, very reluctant in opening up to others. 

She loves and cares for her friends, the vizards- so they know all about her. A bit too much, to be honest. She loved Kirio Hikifune like a mother, still does, but... she knows it isn’t possible to love her in the same way she once did.

Hiyori has learned to live without love for over a hundred years and can still do so. Besides... it is difficult to be in a relationship when you’re still stuck inside your own head.
