Keep It Hid | Kennedi and Lalita
Having not ever seen Kennedi's barriers breaking down quite the way she had that night, the way she got emotional and seemed lost after talking to her mother, she obviously needed someone around and her roommate wasn't there to help her. And whether Lalita wanted to admit it or not, she was getting hung up on Kennedi, and so when she asked her, as a friend, to come over and be with her while she was feeling shaky, she practically jumped at the chance, dressing in between replies, getting out of her comfy pajamas and changing into bra and panties, a thin white long sleeved shirt that you could see her aqua bra through and threw a black peacoat over it and a pair of jeans.
After saying she was going over, she pulled on a scar but went without hat or gloves, deciding the drive would be warm enough and then she'd be in Kennedi's apartment, so there was no need for it. She got a taxi a little ways up the street and climbed in, giving Kennedi's new address and looking out the frosted up window at the lights of the buildings, slowly writing something in the perspiration of the car window before smearing it with her hand and paying the cab driver before jumping out of the car and heading into the building. Once she was inside, she located the place and went in, unlocked as Kennedi said. She locked it behind her, not sure if Kennedi expected Cole back at any point tonight. Pulling off her scarf and coat and leaving them on a chair, she looked around until she saw light under one door and knocked softly before letting herself in.
