Update: Kennedy Street Selected as Playscape Location

From the Kennedy Street Development Association:

"We’re happy to officially announce that Kennedy Street is one of the three sites across the city that will be participating in the playable art design and installation process."

The process is long and complicated, but it'll be installed eventually at the green space on the corner of 5th and Kennedy.

Kennedy Street Selected as Playable Art Finalist

From the Kennedy Street Development Association: 

"Kennedy Street is one of three city-wide winners of the Playable Art DC competition! We're excited to move into the next stage of the process, which is gathering community feedback on what this new community art installation should look like/be. And we'll be starting this weekend at the Kennedy Street Sidewalk Festival - so stay tuned for more details later today!"

"Playable Art DC is an international design competition developed by the District of Columbia’s Office of Planning and made possible by the generous funding of ArtPlace America.

The competition will search for talented artists, architects, industrial designers and other designers to create innovative and exciting play structures for the nation’s capital. The intention is to bring more creativity to the world of Washington’s children and thus stimulate their appreciation and understanding of art while they do what they do best: play."

Kennedy Street Festival June 28th!

Don't forget to show some support to our neighbors to the south by going out to the upcoming Kennedy Street Festival on June 28th. 

From the Kennedy Street Development Association:

The Kennedy Street Sidewalk Festival will be held on June 28th, from 10am-2pm between 3rd Street NW and Georgia Avenue NW.   This day is a chance to join neighbors and friends to enjoy local businesses, entertainment and special guests along the Kennedy Street corridor.
