{ Ƭhe Coruscant sky was shimmering with a silver lining projected from the thousands of sparkling lights throughout the city. Towering above the cold stone permacrete of the Jedi Temple's landing platform were the highly decorated and most elaborated spires, casting dark shadows across the luminously lit platform.}

Down this long stretch of platform marched the boots of a tall, strong Jedi-- no longer a Jedi but a Sith lord--- clad in the blackness of night, green eyes fierce icy orbs as they shone through his hooded face. To any onlooker Darth Vader looked like a black phantom; a demon of the night, merciless, feral, murderous. It was more than half-true. Durasteel fingers clutched the sizzling hilt of his red saber, preparing to k i l l. The furnace of the boy's heart was unlocked, eyes freezing with cold dread as the dust scattered beneath his feet. ❝— This is for you, Obi-Wan.❞ Somewhere deep within the once-Jedi, a spark of redemption flickered dimly, warming the stony heart just enough to keep it from icing over completely. It had been his love for his master and best friend that had propelled the Sith lord into abysses of degradation he never imagined travelling. Such was the price for power.

❝Don't ever let anyone tell you that I have betrayed you this night.❞ Into the empty vaulted hallway Darth Vader strode, followed by a small army of clones. Through the meditation chambers, into the Council room, down the halls. Blue plasma shot upward and sizzled all the flesh that stood in its way. Jedi Masters and Padawans fell, hitting the carpeted floor with a thud, leaving only the young children huddling and shaking behind their training chairs. These children would be dealt with soon enough; once the Sith took over their training. --------------------------------- [CORUSCANT-CHANCELLOR’S OFFICE-EARLY EVENING] I pledge myself to your teachings. To the ways of the Sith. Good. Good. The Force is strong with you. A powerful Sith you will become. Henceforth, you shall be known as Darth . . . Vader. Thank you. my Master. Rise, Darth Vader. I want you to go to the Jedi Temple. We will catch them off balance. Do what must be done, Lord Vader. Do not hesitate. Show no mercy. Only then will you be strong enough with the dark side to save your old master, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

For three the dragon of fear had haunted the cracks and depths of Anakin Skywalker's heart, whispering to him that those he loved would eventually die and leave him desolate and alone. Just as his mother died years ago, beaten and bloodied on Tatooine. So would Padme die; his beloved wife. And Obi-Wan; his closest companion. Then the man who had been a father to him; Palpatine. One by one each and every one would burn out, just as the stars in the galaxy burned out, leaving nothing but rubble and emptiness in their midst. It was wrong for a Jedi to fear---; all Jedi were instructed to let go of everything they feared to lose. And yet, for Anakin, his love for his friends had been too strong to permit such placated, blind acceptance of the Force's Will. He would rise to power and grip the Force in his iron fist, commanding it to submit to his will. He would overcome the laws of death and life itself. He would protect the people that he loved, no matter the cost. Even the cost of innocent lives. It was a decision he'd made as soon as he heard the story of Darth Plagueis the wise. The nightmarish visions of his master and mentor, Obi-Wan Kenobi, suffering and dying, had been the fuel that set the fire aflame--- the fire that would eventually devour the boy in it's molten tendrils. The Jedi did not have the answers for these visions, but Palpatine promised that the Sith did. Through hard work and continued power, Anakin could unlock the secret of immortality and save the Jedi Master from certain death. And now, the hopeful young boy on Tatooine, piloting podcrafts to free his mother, was dead and gone-- replaced by a monster named Darth Vader. How had it come to this?

--------------------------------- The red-hot blade shrunk. So did Anakin--- no, Darth Vader. Against the Council Room wall the once-Jedi sank, hot tears streaming down his eyes as he knelt among the remains of the men he once fought alongside. Men he once called masters, comrades, friends. "What have I done? What have I done?" In his heart that faint flicker of light stirred Until it was smothered again. Teary eyes turned iron-clad and steely as pride and power welled in the Sith's heart, crusting it afresh in callous ice. It had to be done. The death of the Jedi and the rise of the Sith was the only path through which Obi-Wan would be saved. And so, one by one, the Jedi fell to their doom. The charred remains of their bodies lay scattered, only to serve as a warning to any remaining Jedi who happened to enter therein. A dark day had come to the galaxy.

Open RP: Years Long Past

Stride languidly stretched her arms above her head, kicking her feet up on the console of her single passenger, speed based ship. She had intercepted, or rather had been given them by Sidius, her former master, messages between two Republic ships.

One was her first masters. The one who brought her from her home planet to the force. The one man she first felt attachment to. The one who broke her heart and made it ever so easy for her decline to the dark side.

It had been years since Stride, now known as Darth Kinvasen, and Anakin had last seen each other, and she knew that he no doubt had another Padawan.

Her yellow eyes scanned the terrain before her, feeling out with her force sense for anyone like her. She knew that the second she could feel the Jedi, they could feel her. She focused in on the familiar presance, sweet and tangy, yet almost touched with the presance of the dark side. She had found Anakin. Next she moved on to the other Jedi. Their presence was surprisingly pure, the force power strong and growing ever stronger by the minute.

Two formidable opponents.

She stood, her long black cloak covering her tight, form fitted Jedi-like uniform that she wore. She wielded two light sabers, one a deep scarlet, the other her previous green.

She began her descent towards the battlefield.
