Before most of us had even considered waking up, Eben was awoken by a memory. Excitement and duty pulled this young boy from bed as he realized today was the day. After completing a few chores around the house he headed to the Keno camp grounds before any of the staff had arrived, before any other students had arrived, and arriving only shortly after the sun. In his camp shirt from last year he began to clean the area in preparation for the day. Nobody asked him to do this, nobody suggested anyone should, he did it because he wanted to register first and because he's a great kid and because this is how much the camp means to kids like him. When we met Ebenezer he hadn't been to school in years, he had health problems affecting his vision and he didn't own proper clothes. When we spoke to Eben we learned about an intelligent child who was eager to learn and is full of life. This year Eben joins us at camp again, a healthy child having successfully completed his first year of school and looking forward to two more weeks of camp. This is what the camp means to him and to us. #Ghana #Volunteer #Charity #Kids #Education #KenoFoundation #KenoCamp
