Captured in twisted color
But I think there are two questions you need to consider to find a way in this. The first question is 'who are you'. To some extent, for all that you wear your scars, you don't want to own them, or yourself. And I can understand that. It.. doesn't sound pleasant. But until you feel secure enough in who you are , dealing with the approaches of others will always be painful. Everything that they want from you will seem like assaults on a fragile fortress. The other question is 'where am I going'. Because once you have a stable image of what you are, that question comes to mean something entirely different.
S. to K., on the Defiance
[SWtOR] Academy Report
Name: Kerianne Surname: Vele’nair Age: 17 (Acolyte), 18-23 present (Apprentice) Place of Birth: Unknown. Raised on Alderaan and thereafter Nar Shaddaa Race: Human Rank: Apprentice Formerly of Group: #21 - Overseer Ragun In service to: Lord Mortanus (former), Lord Xav’el (current) Academy stay:
Kerianne remained on Korriban for four months prior to her acceptance by Sith Lord Mortanus. She was the sole acolyte who bore cybernetic implants, amongst the group of thirteen that consisted of eight humans, three Sith purebloods, a twi'lek and a rattataki. It was observed that she was singled out for that reason by the other twelve to be the first competition to get rid of, having noted that her sight and hearing were suboptimal despite the implants.
However, she surpassed her twelve peers. This included killing two of them in the first trial within the tombs. She was rewarded with upgrades to her implants, which, according to Overseer Ragun, brought her back on par physically with the other acolytes.
In the following months, she progressed well, showing exemplary aptitude in combat techniques. Once again underestimated by the remaining acolytes for her less than average ability in using the Force, she proved them wrong by dismembering the three considered top acolytes within the group in a confrontation outside the Academy grounds, forcing two of them to accept cybernetic limb replacements, and the third to be executed by herself, on the Overseer’s order, in front of the group for refusing to accede to the same. This was witnessed by Lord Mortanus, who expressed his wish to take her as his apprentice, and who left with her the following day.
Personality and traits: The following comments were stated or documented by various overseers as well as acolytes, during her stay within the Academy:
“Unreal aptitude for survival”
“Always the quiet one”
“Meek and submissive, with a tendency to fly into extreme rage.”
“Horrible temper”
“Respectful, but her anger and fear radiate across the room even when she says ‘yes, Overseer’, or ‘yes my Lord’ with the compliance of an obedient dog.”
“Wallflower”
“Blends into the background”
“Feral”
“She has the typical guardedness of a former human slave, with the desire to prove her worth. It seems that whatever the girl went through had somewhat broken her, and she hangs together only by a delicately woven thread of cybernetics. Yet is it not the most tortured beast that has the most lethal bite?”
“Don’t let her silence and outward ignorance fool you. She is more astute and observant than she lets on.”
“Unpredictable”
“Walks around like the world owes her a living. She sure has more than one chip on her shoulder and more than ten sticks up her ass.”
Abilities: What Kerianne lacks in her strength with Force-manipulation, she more than compensates in lightsaber combat. Having been taught, with the rest of her group, the basics of the seven forms, she left the Academy more proficient in the First, Third and Fifth forms, excelling in Soresu. Paired with “stamina and resilience that borders on inhuman”, she manages to defeat most of her opponents at the Academy by merely outlasting them.
