My eyes were wide with disbelief at the words that just left this man’s mouth. “I-I’m sorry, c-could you r-repeat that?” l managed to stutter out.
He chuckled at my reaction. “I said you’re being hired as a manager. We have a group of trainees we’re hoping to debut soon, so it’ll be a good time for you to learn the ropes.”
I couldn’t deny that when l applied to work here, I didn’t know what my exact job was going to be. But of all of the possibilities, that definitely was not one of the options that crossed my mind.
“Are you sure?” I found myself asking without thinking.
The man sitting across from me nodded firmly. “Positive. When I saw your application, it intrigued me enough to want to interview you myself. And based on what I’ve learned about you in this short amount of time, I believe this is something you could do very well.”
I sat there blinking, still trying to process how this man thought that a 19-year-old foreign college student would make a good manager for a K-pop group. Even though it baffled me, I still found myself extremely excited at the opportunity. It wasn’t long before my look of pure shock was replaced by a bright smile. “Thank you so much!” I finally managed to say.
Seemingly satisfied with my response, Mr. Bang pushed a contract across the desk toward me. “We’ll start you on a temporary contract that will last the remainder of the year. During that time you’ll be trained for the job by the other manager for the group, and of course start your managerial duties. In December we will have a chat and if both the company and you wish to proceed with the employment at that point we’ll go from there. And don’t worry, you’ll be able to work around your school schedule.”
He talked to me about a few other details regarding my hiring as I skimmed over as much of the contract as I could without making him wait too long before I shakily picked up the pen next to my hand and signed my name at the bottom.
“Were happy to have you on board, miss (L/n) (Y/n),” he said with a kind smile.
“Thank you, sir. I’ll do my best!” I said, placing my hand in his outstretched one to shake it.
“You can call me Bang PD-nim.”
I exited the room, still in a daze. Outside waiting for me was a man who I assumed was probably the manager Bang PD-nim mentioned.
When he saw me, he offered me a smile. “Hello, it’s nice to meet you.” He held out his hand for me to shake. “My name is Sejin. The boys are all here for practice if you’d like to go meet them.”
“Hello, I’m (Y/n). That’d be nice, thank you.” I paused for a second, thinking. “Wait, how do you know if I was actually hired though?”
“You did sign, right?”
I nodded.
“Then of course I knew.” He started walking and I followed right behind him. “He asked me to wait for you because he already knew he wanted to hire you. Oh, and feel free to call me oppa.” He smiled as he looked back at me.
“Okay, Sejin oppa.” I returned his smile.
At this point, I couldn’t figure out if my new boss had some kind of magical confidence that things would work out the way he wanted, or if there was a screw or two loose in his brain.
It wasn’t long before we arrived at our destination, the practice room where the boys whose careers I could be scarily responsible for were. I found my heart beginning to race as Sejin oppa opened the door.
“Boys?” he called as he opened the door carefully. “I have someone to introduce you to.” He opened the door wide enough for me to enter the room
“This is (L/n) (Y/n). she’ll be working closely with you as your manager.”
I bowed as he introduced me. “It’s very nice to meet you all!” As I lifted my head I was greeted by seven smiling faces. One of which I instantly recognized.
“(Y/n)!” the friendly boy yelled as he rushed over to embrace me in a (rather sweaty) hug. “I’m so glad the interview went well!”
I wrapped my arms around my friend. “It’s nice to see you too, Seokjin.” I said in between giggles.
“Oh, so this is the noona you’ve been telling us about hyung?” one of the other six boys asked.
Seokjin smiled as he nodded, while I felt a little embarrassed.
“You’ve told them about me?” I asked.
“Of course!” Seokjin replied easily.
“We’ve heard a lot about you, (Y/n)-shi,” another boy said as he walked up to me with a smile. It was hard to not notice his dimples. “My name is Kim Namjoon. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I hope you don’t mind us calling you noona.”
I blushed slightly. I had yet to meet anyone who could call me noona, so the unfamiliarity of the respectful name made me a bit embarrassed. “Of course! It’s nice to meet you too, all of you.”
The rest of the trainees bowed and introduced themselves one by one. I felt like l could see a snippet of each of their personalities from how they greeted me. Jung Hoseok was energetic with a bright expression. Park Jimin sounded sweet while he showed a genuine smile. Min Yoongi was just calm and straightforward. Kim Taehyung shocked me with his loud and hyper greeting. And Jeon Jungkook flashed a shy smile while he quietly spoke.
Little did I know exactly how my life was going to change starting today.

The last dream I had this morning was about me and my boyfriend looking for and buying a house. And midway through my bf became Jimin (because ya know that's how dreams work) and the two of us were just like really happy and right before I woke up I was about to ask him if we could start trying for a baby. It was so sweet (and I've been having baby fever a lot lately so that totally didn't kill me) and lowkey I was upset when I woke up and realized it was a dream lol. (I love my bf, I swear lol)

I just read Head Over Heels To Hell and HOLY CRAP THAT WAS AMAZING!!!!! I tried reblogging it but tumblr is STUPID and glitches every time I try so I guess I'll send an ask instead and hope this goes through lol. The parallels between the scenes through their current lives vs their past lives was so clever and the story was just told so beautifully! Maybe they were never destined to be enemies, just "star crossed lovers" who never got the chance to make things right between them. I loved it!!!!!
It’s honestly been a hot second since I’ve heard about HOHTH but I fucking love that fic myself. I think it’s one of my better stories so I’m glad you thoroughly enjoyed it!! :D especially with going through the effort of personally messaging me after reblogging failed.
