🎉 happy four years (since my retirement)!

It's been nine years since I started this blog. Wow! It seems that tumblr's changed a little bit in terms of formatting too.

I hope everyone is doing well :) It seems that there are a few people who wait for my yearly updates and I am incredibly honoured!!

I am happy to announce I have graduated from law school! Yipe! Time FLIES! I'll be starting work shortly at a firm and in one year's time, I'll be a full-fledged lawyer :> I am still dating my wonderful boyfriend! It's been about a year and a half - and we have plans to move out soon together and be closer to our workplaces, so lots of exciting developments!

I've been thinking lately about this transition from school to work and how for the first time I'm truly becoming an "adult". What is it that I want my life to look like from here on out. What it is that I want to do. More importantly, I've been thinking about writing. As always and what still remains true: I really want to write a book! It's just a little bit daunting since I want it to go well. I've yet to take the leap, but the plans are still there. I think for now I might try to just work for this upcoming year and see how that goes rather than starting two fresh endeavours at once. Hopefully in the coming years, I am able to build the courage to try :)

Thank you to all who still read my stories and give feedback, whether through direct messages or reblogs. I read them all! I still check in often and it always warms my heart while reminding me of one of the fondest eras of my life. I hope to all who reads this message that happiness, success and good health find you all! I am manifesting this!!

Three years!

Hello, everyone and happy Jimlingss anniversary! Woohoo! It has been three years since my official retirement and eight years since I’ve began this blog. That’s absolutely crazy since it all feels like yesterday. Time flies when you’re having fun.

First and foremost, thank you to all who still send me messages and give me feedback on my stories! I do check back once in a while and read everything, so nothing goes unnoticed. Your kind words always make me miss the simpler days of writing. :’) It really gets me nostalgic.

Second, here is my yearly update!

I’ve finished my second year of law school! I finished off this year with a bang and did quite well, if I do say so myself. There’s one more year left to go and that’s insane since I remember the first day so vividly. I’m a bit sad for it to be all over — I never thought I’d ever feel this way. But I’ve made so many friends and created so many memories. When it’s all over, everyone will be going their own path. Luckily, I’m sure we’ll remain connected and be close friends no matter what.

I don’t think I’ve had such a positive experience quite like this in all my years of schooling. I’ve always been the type to just scurry on home, never liked what I was studying, and never had too many friends. So this change has been unexpected yet very welcome.

In terms of career, I’ve been working this summer and I have something lined up for when I’m finished school! So soon I’ll be racking in the dough, wooooooo!! Let’s get it!

My family is also doing well — and I feel very fortunate for that. 

Third, and most important, I am happy to announce that I have a boy I absolutely adore! We’ve officially been dating for four months? That seems so short on paper, but we’ve known each other for close to two years! I’m living out one of my friends to lovers fics, I swear (lol).

He’s been a close friend since the start of law school and somewhere along the line I gradually caught feelings (of course I did lmao). I was sure rejection was on the horizon and I wanted to preserve our dear friendship, so I was trying to get over it for months by myself. This included online dating and going on a string of dates (hahaha). I ended up cracking and calling him on the phone one night, but then aborted mission. Thanks to the advice of a friend, I stopped avoiding him and being an embarrassment, and I finally confronted him. He said we should give it a shot, and here we are!

He has brown, curly hair that reminds me of a poodle. And he made me realize why love is so loved — why it’s so revered — talked about — imprinted in each other’s minds. Everywhere. I’ve written countless love stories but never truly experienced the feeling before, and yet, he’s made the heart of my stories come to life. He’s let me live them in real time. 

I really hope it works out! LOL

Anyway, I’m always happy to do these updates and for all those who may be just a bit curious enough about me to check in. Although this is a very positive update (and I hope it continues to be), my life isn’t without its ups and downs either. It just seems to be in a general upwards trajectory. 

Thank you to everyone who still remembers me, and who may still read my stories! I definitely haven’t forgotten about you all, so I hope you haven’t forgotten me either.

two years!! :D it’s been two years since my final curtain call and seven years since Jimlingss began! Seven years!!! Now that’s a crazy yet meaningful number!

Hello to everyone reading this message :D hopefully you remember me (it’s ok if you don’t) and for those who care, hopefully this is a treat! just a quick update on my life — I successfully completed my first year of law school and what a whirlwind it’s been. 

I’ve had so many ups and downs in the past year and I honestly feel like I’ve changed a lot. like evolved from pichu to pikachu. It was my first time moving away from home, away from my parents, and making so many friends. it’s been 20% bitter and 80% sweet. overall, I feel like I’ve learnt so much about myself and became a lot more stable in who I am.

school is hard but completely manageable. luckily, I don’t think my choice was wrong. there are days I quite enjoy what I’m learning. I got 2 years left in the game. soon (hopefully) I’ll be making the big bucks $$$ and I’ll be able to fund my sugar baby dreams (except I’ll also be my own sugar mommy). Although my dating life is as stale as always with 0 movement, I’ve become close with a handful of folks that I hold dearly to my heart. guess I’m in my friendship arc hahahaha

funny enough, I actually came back to this blog out of my own volition 2 weeks ago and re-read some of my stories. I feel so nostalgic. some of my stories really slap ngl. anyway, I really miss creative writing so much. Fortunately, there’s a few extracurriculars at school that allow me to write creatively so it’s somewhat of an outlet for me. it’s not fully satisfying but it’s something!!

I regularly come back to tumblr to check messages and do plagiarism checks lol. Speaking of which, I’ll take this time to answer some messages in my inbox.

unfortunately, i don’t have any socials that anyone can follow me on. my socials are pretty private and only the people who i’m close to, I follow and vice versa. but no worries because I will always come back to this blog to do a yearly update so you’ll hear from me! I will satiate your curiosity if you’re every curious about what I’m up to!!

for anyone who ever messages me compliments to my stories and/or missing my presence, no worries, I read them all :) your messages and feedback is never lost! it’s very sweet and always warms my heart.

if my fics ever help you through hard times, then I’m super glad!!! life can undoubtably be downright terrible. life can really really suck (understatement). but I think it’s comforting to know that everyone at some point thinks the same. it’s a universal sentiment - and in that, you’re not alone.

happy one year anniversary since my departure & six years of this blog!!!

hey, everyone! Unfortunately I’m not here to write or post any fanfics and I have no plans of doing such. I just wanted to say hi and commemorate today for all those who remember me and might be curious on how I’m doing! I’m very much alive and well :D 

I will say I very much miss this blog and my interactions with everyone. Writing still holds such an important place in my heart and I look back at the time I used to write like a psycho very fondly haha. Sometimes I really miss that time in my life. On that note, my plans of publishing a book have not really moved forward. I’m still on square one with brainstorming ideas and searching for inspo. But my intentions of publishing still have not changed!! I will definitely write a book within this lifetime!!!!!!! No matter how long it takes goddammit!

On another note, I hope everyone’s been well! I was able to graduate from uni earlier this month! And I’m happy to announce I’ve also been admitted into law school. On a more sour note, I’ll have to move away from my hometown and away from my parents — I’m not very excited about it, but I’ve sort of come to accept it. It’ll be a big change and certainly an experience. So law school will be what’s in store for me for the next three years. (I hope I find some inspo there lol)

Believe it or not, I still occasionally check this blog and read the messages that the few of you leave for me! :D It makes me feel nostalgic, melancholic, but also very happy! 

I haven’t been keeping up with BTS that much but I hear that they’re taking a break + they’re gonna do some solo activities and honestly I think that’s the right choice. I’m very much looking forward to seeing what each member has in store and to see their moment in the spotlight.

While I haven’t been keeping up with kpop too too much, I’ve returned to reading a shit ton of manga + manhuas, and I’ve sort of returned to the minecraft community on youtube which I was a part of in 2013ish LOL. I’m just a casual viewer, don’t worry. Content creation beyond writing doesn’t really spark my interest.  

Anyway, I hope everyone’s been enjoying their summer! I’ll be heading to Korea next month with my family for 2 weeks and hopefully to Japan next year! (I’m fairly excited.) 

I think I’ll be doing an annual check-in with this blog every anniversary just as a way to commemorate the occasion until the inevitable day that tumblr shuts down. After that, whenever I publish a book, I’ll advertise it on my ao3. But until that day comes, see you next year! :D :>

Will I still be into BTS? Yes. After so long, they still hold a special place in my heart. I will keep myself updated with their music, go to any concerts possible, and keep up to date with BTS Run.

Will I ever return? Probably with little updates of my life here and there when anything notable happens. Just for anyone who might be curious or wants to hear from me. It might be months or years in between. However, I won’t be returning to write. I won’t be writing on any other platform or for any other fandom either.

I’ll still be somewhat on tumblr, reading other people’s works, liking gif sets, sending feedback to others, so you might still see traces of me around!! 

If I ever publish an original book (in 10 years lol), I will let you know here or if tumblr doesn’t exist anymore, then on my ao3.

Before I started this blog, I had never written a proper story. But because of this experience and opportunity, writing has become my most passionate hobby.
