One of the only things I love as much as Jaws is the absolute avalanche of Jawsalike ripoffs that were spewed out in#The subsequent decade or so: ya got Dogs‚ ya got Slugs‚ ya got Razorback‚ ya got Killer Crocodile (a personal favourite). Of the many many#Imitations to follow Spielberg's opus‚ none is more Jaws like than this. It's kind of astonishing. It's jo exaggeration to say that this#Film quite simply is Jaws‚ only with a bear instead of a shark. It even has a trio of lead characters who perfectly compliment Brody‚ Quint#And Hooper from the original‚ right down to their relationships and dynamics. It's honestly a faintly impressive kind of plagiarism. And it#Is So Much Fun. Say what you will about originality or depth or whatever hokum; i came to see a gigantic bear go ham and that's what I got.#A minor masterpiece of its own specific subgenre‚ and a shamelessly brainless thrill ride. The cast of B movie legends really helps to sell#It too; Christopher George was made for this kind of blockbuster imitation (the working man's Roy Scheider). Glorious‚ tacky nonsense but I#Could happily rewatch the film again already‚ and if that isn't an endorsement I don't know what is
