BEYOND THE KERNEL: Wake-y Wake-y Eggs and Cheddar Bac-y Sandwich
Kernel Season’s™ Product Review and Flavor-Inspired Recipes
It took a lot of thought to create a recipe with the Kernel Season's™ Cheddar Bacon flavor. Would I make a burger? A side dish? Then it came to me. After hearing a headline on the radio about McDonald's lightening up their breakfast menu, I thought to myself, I could make an egg sandwich with the flavors of cheddar and bacon without all the calories!
This is another recipe which can be categorized as a "non-recipe" because you really can put anything you want to in it... I thought we had spinach in our fridge, but I guess we used it up last night at dinner, so I couldn't put any in... But truly, you can use any veggies you wish in this "omelet."
INGREDIENTS
2 tablespoons diced tomatoes
1 tablespoon diced onion
1 tablespoon diced mushrooms
Non-stick cooking spray or a pat of butter
1 egg (plus a splash of water)
1 teaspoon Kernel Season's™ Bacon Cheddar seasoning
Pinch of salt
English muffin or low-cal sandwich flat bread
DIRECTIONS
Preheat a skillet over medium-high heat. Spray with non-stick cooking spray.
Add vegetables and sauté.
Meanwhile, crack an egg into a bowl and add a splash of water (no more than a tablespoon).
Add one teaspoon of Kernel Season's™ Bacon Cheddar seasoning and whisk to combine.
Add the egg mixture to the vegetables and reduce heat to low.
When the eggs are almost fully cooked, remove from pan and place on a sandwich roll. Sprinkle with some salt.
I hope you enjoyed these Kernel Season's™ recipes. I certainly enjoyed the challenge of creating them!
Have a great day!
Alex

Reminds me of when I was little.
