“Grivk” is a Kervanian word that loosely translates into english as “universe”. “Universe”, however, is actually a much broader term than “Grivk”.

The “Universe” is commonly defined as the totality of existence, and whether or not this extends to “Universes” separate from the one in which we exist is a subject of debate, as is the existence of other “Universes”. To Kervanians, on the other hand, other “Universes” play an integral role in their society, mainly as a means of quick transportation(the 1st through 4th Grivks), or storage(The 5th Grivk).

When Kervanians and humans first came into contact in 2011 AD, the words “Grivk” and “Universe” were considered to mean the same thing, but when the two societies began to merge around 234 PP(Post-Portal), it became commonly accepted that the word “Grivk” referred to individual realms of existence, and that “Universe” referred to all realms of existence as a whole(Example statement: “In the entire Universe, there are roughly a thousand Grivks that can theoretically be safely visited.”)

Ankeors

An Ankeor is an object used to channel Absolute Energy into a spell.  Wands a type of non-constant Ankeor.  Ankeors can be several ways.  One of them is to constantly channel a set amount of Absolute Energy into a spell to keep it going.  Another is to channel certain amounts of Energy at certain set times.  Crystals are popular as Ankeors on Earth, while Kervanians prefer dralesh, a black stone mined from Tesnot, one of Der's smaller moons.

Neva

Neva was appointed by Destiny as a half-way link between the Varek, and beings that exist on the physical plane.  Like the Varek, she possesses a knowledge of everything that ever was, and everything that is, allowing her to make accurate guesses at what will happen in the future.  The only thing that keeps her predictions from being 100% accurate, as she says, is our tendency to do exactly the opposite of what she expects us to, just to show her that we can(Excuses, excuses).  Unlike the Varek, she does age, although at the same pace as the universe.  When a Universe dies, so does she, before she is recreated with the birth of the next Grivk(The Kervanian word for universe).
