My Oscars opinions that nobody asked for:
-Nosferatu was snubbed for cinematography 100%
-Fuck yes for No Other Land winning best doc and that acceptance speech was BIG! Amazing
-Anora winning as many awards as it did kinda pissed me off because I am not a fan of Sean Baker. Any random man who's fascinated enough to make four films about sex work without any intimacy coordinator is gonna make me squint I'm sorry! (Also loads of shit out about him being a Zionist/white supremacist etc, it's all unsurprising)
-emilia perez shouldn't have even been nominated, honestly. Did I watch it? No. Might pirate it later but like god that songwriter acceptance speech was cringe as hell. French cis people making a movie about trans people and the Mexican cartel? Again, I'm squinting.
- happy for flow!! Yay flow!!!
- Conclave! I wanted Ralph fiennes to win best actor, I think he really deserved that one. Or like literally any of the other nominees tbh
- I also wish Isabella Rosalinni had won best supporting actress. Her role was so fucking critical in conclave, subtle and yet loud! Absolutely masterful! Winner in my heart...
- wicked got what they deserved imo. I was split between wicked and nosferatu for costumes but it's hard to compete with a movie like wicked in those categories. I mean all those designs were so intricate and gorgeous, I was personally stunned in the theatres by those set designs.
- another fuck Sean Baker for good measure
- I'm gonna be watching the substance this week for sures, cheers
- hats off to independent film, big fuck off to sean baker
I wish Tumblr was like official documents or academic papers where you are required to write out the acronym fully at least once before you can continue using the acronym
guess what movie I just watched?
Does no one else suffer from the constant crushing weight of the grief over every person you once loved and no longer speak to? We're all just expected to be normal about that?
What "embarrassing" media do you love? I'll start, I am about as feral about the Frozen movies as a 6 year old child
somehow it took me 22 years to realize that i experience pmdd horribly every fucking menstrual cycle, i genuinely didn't even know it was a thing until recently i feel failed by my health class once again.
