It would appear the 'it' boot for the upcoming A/W season is the cowboy boot. Fitting in perfectly with the new nomad trend, it's easy to see why people are abandoning stuffy, military styles of winters past for a more fun and wearable style. The lines around the word 'cowboy' are, however, pretty blurry in this case, so you can take this trend as far as you're willing to, depending on how brave you are! I recently acquired these cute, studded, taupe cowboy boots from Zara; they're perfect for dressing up a casual jeans and tee combinationorfor dressing down a more put-together maxi skirt and shirt look. If you wanted to go a step further, there are some great - more traditional - cowboy boots available all over the highstreet, with some pretty rock and roll ones at Topshop in particular. (These come complete with vintage-look leather detailing, square/pointy toes, and LOADS of embroidery). Play around with this look and see if you can adapt and alter the trend to suit your personal style. It won't be for everyone but it's certainly a wild card piece in what is shaping up to be a very suit-focused season!
