This Key Lime Tart is a zesty and refreshing dessert, perfect for any occasion. The combination of tangy key lime juice and sweetened condensed milk creates a smooth and creamy filling, nestled in a buttery graham cracker crust. It's a delightful treat that captures the essence of summertime in every bite.
Ingredients: 1 cup graham cracker crumbs. 1/4 cup granulated sugar. 5 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted. 3 large egg yolks. 1 can 14 ounces sweetened condensed milk. 1/2 cup freshly squeezed key lime juice. 1 tablespoon grated key lime zest. Whipped cream, for serving optional.
Instructions: Preheat oven to 350F 175C. In a bowl, mix graham cracker crumbs, sugar, and melted butter until well combined. Press the mixture onto the bottom and up the sides of a 9-inch tart pan with a removable bottom. Bake the crust for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely. In another bowl, whisk together egg yolks, sweetened condensed milk, key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth. Pour the filling into the cooled crust. Bake for 15 minutes or until the filling is set but still slightly jiggly in the center. Let the tart cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours or until chilled and set. Serve slices of the tart with whipped cream if desired.
