working on an absolutely massive KH piece and while doing that- I decided I wanted to use alternate outfits- TLDR I wanted to give Namine a post-KH3 outfit like other characters have. Poor girl is still walking around with her toes out :( Anyway! I'm putting this here separately so I can ramble about the design lol. I decided to give her a romper underneath the dress, (I think that's what it's called? basically like a dress but it turns into shorts at the bottom if that makes sense) in the style of her original dress. The overlayed dress I tried giving aspects of multiple characters- Most visibly modelled after a mix of Xion and Kairi's outfits post-KH3. Except instead of giving her an actual belt on the waist, I figured I'd keep her outfit as comfy as the original and just have a pattern in its place. The necklace is basically her exact charm from Chain of Memories but in necklace form- bc ofc i believe in the necklace theory lol, and also it's just a cute way for her to keep that symbol associated with her. The collar is sort of a mix of Ventus and Roxas' red collars on their jackets, Ventus since her appearance is technically a mix of Ventus and Kairi, so she has a connection there. And Roxas since she probably has some kind of bond with him after everything that's happened. also i gave her actual shoes because my poor girl deserves close toed shoes. I tried to model them after both her original sandals and the sort of small boots Kairi and Xion get. I considered adding a zipper or laces, but realizes making them slip-on would probably fit her simplistic comfy style of the original outfit.
