Take it Easy
Sometimes, in the early mornings, Traverse Town seemed almost peaceful.
Sometimes.
Alister was well aware of the dark creatures that roamed every crack or ever alley in Traverse Town. They’d been here since the day he arrived; probably even before then. At least he did not have to worry about a shortage of things to do. There were people all around him in very similar situations to his; who have lost their home or their loved ones; all they have ever known. He did his best to help these people; he was good with medicines and herbs. He could also make a stew that could melt worries away.
But in the light of the dawn he was able forget about everything, if only for a moment. His stretches weren’t only for his body. They were also for his mind. Now that the young woman he had helped last night was resting, he could take a moment for himself.
