1. Out of all the fictional characters you’ve read/watched/seen/experienced in your life, which one do you relate to the most?
Sorry to say i havent yet come across a character that i feel i can relate to very much :[
2. What makes you keep blogging on Tumblr?
Because the way people are forever changing and developing fascinates me. We are interested in different things at different points in our lives. Sometimes we only like things for a short time, sometimes we are hooked for years, sometimes even forever. I feel like keeping a record of this progress is really rewarding down the track. My tumblr is a reflection of what i love and what keeps my mind occupied. I blog for the same reason i keep a diary and create art, to document my progress and development as a human being.
3. What are the five things on your dashboard that make you lose your patience?
Porn
People arguing for the sake of fighting, with no intention of learning from the other party/getting to a reasonable goal
People not realising that everyone has a right to their own opinion
Ignorance
Blatant hostility between people
4. Are you enjoying what you’re studying at university/college/school? If yes, what are you studying and why are you so passionate about it? If no then why are you studying it?
Alhamdulillah i'm loving what I'm studying at uni. I am currently studying psychology and education and im passionate about them both because they keep me grounded and open minded about people that i meet because it shows me why people do things, why they dont do other things, and how to deal with them in the most efficient way. Studying education is also awesome for me because i constantly worry about being a mother and raising my kids. Education, i feel, is preparing me for motherhood; understanding children and how to get along with them properly and how to give them what they need without going overboard.
5. Four facts your parents don’t know about you?
That i'm actually head over heels in love with my religion
That i'm open to marrying interracially (they might have a gist of this one tho)
That i have really close friends from across the world
That i don't plan on following in their footsteps when i raise my own children (inshaAllah)
6. What is a legitimate fear of yours? And no, I don’t want stuff like heights, spiders or dogs… I mean fears which haunt you like a ghost.
Meeting Imam Mahdi (atfs) one day and have him look at me with shame.
7. Wizard, Werewolf, Vampire, Warlock, Faerie, Doctor, Knight, Shadowhunter, Human, Hobbit, Dwarf, Elf - what would you choose and why?
Shadowhunter, first and foremost hahaha. Coz that's the most badass thing to be. You get to wear awesome black gear and you get to carry weapons and witchlight and you get to draw runes on yourself with your own damn stele like omg can it be more awesome? And on top of that youre rescuing the world from demons oh ma god. There's nothing more i would rather be to be quite honest with you.
8. What do you firmly believe is the key to happiness?
Being able to concentrate on what is good for you, and to completely disregard anything that will pull you back/slow you down.
9. Would you rather be in jail paying your debts or constantly running in fear from the cops?
Running from the cops haha! How fun does that sound. Fast and furious.
But on a serious note, I'd chose to be in jail because i probably deserved it and i should be held accountable for my wrongdoings.
10. What is the one lesson you will always remember from your parents?
One lesson that always comes back to me at the toughest times is when my dad told me this Arabic proverb that roughly translates to "Tiredness never sleeps", which basically means that you should push yourself as far as need be because you'll remember your success and the result of your efforts, but your fatigue and frustration doesn't come with you. It ends when you sleep. So all that is left from your hard work is the result (a good grade/a completed task) and not the exhaustion that you felt at that time.
11. How difficult is it for you to move on from circumstances where you are completely demoralised, publicly shammed and/or hurt?
Very easily actually. I trained myself to be able to switch on and off. If something terrible happens and it is beyond my control to change the outcome, i switch off and i don't let it bother me ever again.
all done :)
