[14.] a gentle first kiss that morphs into intense want. 💗
Stages of Intimacy @khaeryx
“I prefer it up here.” Morren explained when Khaeryx found her sitting on the roof of the Last Light Inn. “It’s quieter. There’s too many people downstairs.”
She was still adjusting to being around so many people. The party the tieflings had thrown after the grove was saved she had endured but had been uncomfortable the entire time. Now there were even more people squeezed into a smaller space with the Harpers and Falming Fists crawling all over the inn. The roof seemed like the one place that was generally quiet and free from people except the occasional Fist who came up to do a check every hour or so. She was allowed to have her perch in relative peace.
Khaeryx she was willing to share it with. He sat beside her and she made no protest of wanting to stay on her own. After all, she had him to thank for helping reunite her and Esca. The wolf was currently curled up in the stable in a pile of hay with his wounds seen to. He’d need some time to recover and Morren was just happy she knew where the other half of her soul was.
“I wanted to thank you.” She began, a self-conscious tug on the end of her braid showed how anxious she was to find the proper words. If he hadn’t helped her then she probably wouldn’t have found Esca in time. Khaeryx had saved them both.
Maybe words were the wrong idea. She’d messed up before trying to use her words with him and gave him the impression that she only saw him as what he was born as and not who he chose to be. Morren had heard people say that actions spoke louder than words so perhaps it was better to show him how grateful she was.
Morren scooted just a tad closer to him. She had an idea but she wasn’t sure entirely if it was the correct way to thank someone. Her eyes darted to his lips and she subconsciously licked her own. She was told that kisses were apparently special and what could be more special than thanking someone for saving her and her soulmate? She swallowed her apprehension and steeled herself.
She waited for him to turn to look at her before she closed the gap, pressing her lips against his. He was warm and his lips were softer than she had expected. Morren held herself stiff, expecting the reprimand that she’d done the wrong thing. She pulled back a fraction, suddenly embarrassed and flustered, her cheeks turning a noticeable shade of pink under the layer of freckles. It had felt…nice. A warm feeling seemed to fill her body and when no objection came she pressed forwards again and kissed Khaeryx a second time.
Suddenly Morren found herself grabbed. She panicked for a moment only Khaeryx didn’t shove her away but instead seemed to be trying to pull her closer. She let herself be moved, shifting so she ended up straddling his lap. She opened her mouth to ask a question but Khaeryx caught her mouth and continued kissing her, mouth open and his tongue finding her’s. Something seemed to click and her hands framed his face to keep him there.
It felt good. More of that warm feeling spread through her body and seemed to settle low in her gut. She thought she’d be disgusted but it was anything but and she wanted more. The only issue was the need to breathe which meant she had to pull back and gulp down a breath before either Khaeryx pulled her back or she found his lips again. If this was kissing then why hadn’t she tried it before? It felt like she was in a daze and nothing else mattered but Khaeryx and the feeling of his lips against her’s, his tongue caressing her own, and even the nip of teeth which made a high whine escape.
Then a scream from below sent her scrambling. Suddenly jolted back to reality, Morren had to shake herself back into where she was and what was happening. Down below in the courtyard there were monstrous winged creatures, cowering tieflings, and both the Harpers and Flaming Fists drawing weapons. Movement out of the corner of her eye saved her when one of the creatures dropped down almost on top of where she had just been crouched.
It was lucky she kept her armour and bow on her. It seemed nothing in these cursed lands stayed quiet for long.
