I am the protection for my Companions - when I have gone, that which has been forewarned will come to my Companions. My Companions are the protection for this Ummah - when they have gone, that which has been forewarned will come to this Ummah.
Messenger of Allaah (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) [Sahih Muslim Book 31, Hadith #6147]
Avoid the enemies of Allaah on their festivals.
Umar ibn Al Khattab [Ahkaam Ahl al-Dhimmah, 1/723-724]
Khaleefah
Abu Dawud narrated with his isnad from Jabir ibn Abdullah that Messenger of Allaah said: 'Last night a righteous man was shown (in a dream) that Abu Bakr was tied to the Messenger of Allaah, and Umar was tied to Abu Bakr, and Uthman was tied to Umar.' When we Left the Messenger of Allaah, we said: As for the righteous man, that was the messenger of Allaah, and that their being tied together, they will be in charge of this matter with which Allaah has sent HIs Prophet. [Abu Dawud (4636)]
If I do well, then obey me. And if I act wrongly, then correct me.
[Al-Bidaayah Wan Nihaayah (6/305)]
You should love Abu Bakr and Umar. Disavowing Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman is disavowing Ali, and disavowing Ali is Disavowing Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman.
Zayd ibn Ali, [Al Aqeeda fi Ahlyl byte (pg. 335); Tareekh Dimashq (6/21)]
Fearing Allaah
Muhammad ibn Sereen (rahimahullah) said, "With the exception of the prophet, no individual was more fearful of Allaah (jalla wa alla) than Abu Bakr." Qais said, "I once saw Abu Bakr (radiallahu anhu) holding on to the edge of his tongue, and the while he was saying, 'this is what has placed me in so many difficult situation.'" [Sifatus-Safwah (2/253)] Abu Bakr As-Siddeeq once summarized the importance of fearing Allaah when he said, "Cry, and if you are not able to cry, then at least feign to cry." [Az-Zuhd, By Imam Ahmad, Chapter, "The Zuhd of Abu Bakr" (pg. 108)]
