Hospital Visit || Sidney & Khalia

Sidney had been livid the entire way to the hospital. How could any man hit his own child? How could anyone hit Khalia, of all people? And enough to put her in the hospital? The thought made his blood boil. He had to keep telling himself to calm down, because showing up angry would only agitate Khalia. By the time he reached the main lobby, he had wrangled his rage down to a subtle simmer.
He was directed to Khalia’s room, where he knocked on the door before entering; he’d stopped off in the gift shop before he showed up, a little stuffed bear and a vase of flowers in tow. “Hey, Khalia,” he offered quietly, not wanting to disturb any rest she was trying to get.
