Even if nothing romantic or lasting can happen between us, I still want us both to have our dreams and be happy. Whatever that means for each of us. For you, it may be fulfilling your responsibilities, sleeping peacefully and realising you have a heart you can be proud of. For me, it may be to create fictional worlds that fulfil all my desires that this world can't and to never have kids and to live in Seoul. In five years we may not even be in each other's universes. We may not even speak each other's names. But that's okay. Just be happy and achieve your goals. And remember that happiness doesn't depend on that - on achieving your goals. It's two different things. People may make the goals part seem like the be-all-end-all of this life that we have, but it's not. It's being able to eat well and sleep well and smile genuinely. And laugh a lot. And when you're able to do all of that, just know that the tiny bit of me that you carry in your mind and your life will cheer you on.
Even if we never meet in Itaewon, I’ll not wish anything but joy and peace for you. I hope you know that.
