Questions for the Role-play (Patches Alliance Spotlight) Interview for both Kalarros and Khatte because I love them both: 1, 2, 8 and 19 🖤✨

Kalarros

1. Please state your full name and occupation.

"Lord Kalarros Oraya, Wrath of the Empire and occasional advisor to the Alliance in matters of military strategy and Sith politics." (it is very clear this is not the first time he's been surprise interviewed while going about his day)

2. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

"There are many ways to answer that. I was born and raised on Korriban, to the single failing branch of an ancient and venerated Sith lineage, and had the good fortune to train at the Academy before the war all but destroyed its credibility as an institution, taught in the old philosophy. But most who ask that question wish to know of my more recent past, and my allegiances: I was a servant of the Emperor himself, before Ziost, and until that day I was loyal to him. As I was loyal to my Master before him, until he sought to betray me. I have never denied it and I regret neither despite the outcome, but my only loyalty now is to the Empire, and to those I have come to call family."

8. What do you like to do for fun?

"I ride, as often as I have the time. Even being in the stable is... a welcome respite in chaotic times. House Oraya has been known for breeding and training champion fathiers since before Korriban was lost, but Asha has always been a companion above all. I'm fortunate to have her.

Beyond that, I enjoy sparring. I was also a decently well-respected dominant on Dromund Kaas for a time, and I've found no shortage of opportunity to use those skills here, when the mood strikes... to be clear, that is not an offer, or an advertisement. I'm content with my current partners and have no desire to be half the Republic rank and file's first experience."

19. Describe an average day in your life.

"The unpredictability of life here makes that a difficult task, but we all find routine and ritual where we can. There are times when my duty to the Alliance or to the Empire must take precedence over all else, but when no immediate danger threatens, I take time each day to train, to meditate, to spend what time I can with those I love. I often spend mornings with Malavai, before he buries himself in work, tend to Asha and ride out into the woods for a while. The rest of the day will depend on what tasks need to be done, and who is on-world at any given time."

Khatte (who tried to slip away while Kalarros was being interviewed and failed)

1. Please state your full name and occupation.

"Cipher. Cipher."

(when it's pointed out that that doesn't qualify as a name) "I don't have a name, do you not realize what a Cipher... fine. Khatte Antilles, if you need a more disarming alias. Former Cipher. Current traitorous fugitive, blackmail victim, and unwilling object of interrogation."

2. Tell us a little bit about yourself.

"I was a Cipher. Then I wasn't."

(after several rounds of this and realizing that Patches is capable of being more annoyingly persistent than he is) "Look, most of my life is classified and the rest is irrelevant, what do you want me to say? If there was any sort of justice in the galaxy I'd have been dead years ago, but here I am running a half-baked Intelligence operation for a glorified militia in the middle of a fucking forest."

(when prodded about his involvement with the Killiks he loosens up considerably) "Oh, yes, there is that. People don't usually ask without throwing in a derogatory remark, but I haven't made a secret of my support and I don't intend to start. The Empire misused their loyalty like it does everyone's, but I've worked closely with them on a personal level for years and I've come to know the Oroboro nest well. I'd trust them over most Imperials any day."

8. What do you like to do for fun?

"Anyone who'll have me, really, I'm not picky."

"What do you mean 'what else?' The entire bloody planet is uninhabited, do I look like someone who goes out on walks to commune with the trees? ... I enjoy cooking, I suppose. Vector appreciates it, if nothing else."

19. Describe an average day in your life.

"Tolerable."

"... What? That was a description."

"Ugh, fine. On a good day I'll stop by the Killik enclave and nobody will be able to find me and ask questions about our mess of a spy network. Otherwise it's mostly go over field reports, argue with Beniko about them, get as drunk as my implants allow, find someone willing to fuck me until I forget that I haven't seen a proper building in months. Descriptive enough yet? Or do you want to know the measurements of that trandoshan merc who flew in yesterday?"

"How do you even know about— all right, yes, I've been passing a bit of time with that Mandalorian hunter, goes by Liz. Terrifying woman, and I mean that as nothing but a compliment. Frankly she could do better, but she hasn't got tired of me yet. It's been... look, don't print this. Cipher agents don't have feelings, anyone will tell you that."

Khatte - 15. Who is the most important person in your life? Why?

"That's a dangerous question to ask someone like me. But I suppose everyone who knows me already has a target on them now, and at this point Vector deserves the credit. It's... not an exaggeration to say that I owe him my life."

2. How would/does your character feel about being picked up?

he's 6'3, he would be baffled and alarmed that anything CAN pick him up. once he got over the shock though he would act like the most indignant scruffed cat imaginable.

6. Does your character get sick often?

hardly ever, man's vaccinated for everything they've invented a vaccine for and I'm pretty sure he's got an implant for that as well. consequently, while he's capable of shrugging off things like torture and grievous injury, if he does somehow manage to get a mild cold he WILL act like he's dying and demand sympathy.

12. Describe a piece of clothing you have that your character would never wear.

fjkldsjlsd 99% of my wardrobe honestly, my fashion sense is "discount hozier" and his is "tom of finland biker." I think the one that wins is this one strapless zebra print dress I still have for some reason, from before I transitioned. he probably could rock a dress if he had one properly tailored and wanted to, but he does not want to.

26. What's something about your character that nobody would guess by looking at them?

That he's a spy, hopefully. Also, based on reactions to him on tumblr over the years, that he's a massive sub.

What is your OC guilty about? How do they handle their guilt? Do they try to avoid guilt, or do they accept it? Khatte has a Lot of guilt for things he's done in the Empire's name while he was a Cipher, but he also has trouble examining it or directly acknowledging it. so it kind of translates a lot of the time into an aimless self loathing and an erroneous belief that that's just how he is. he's internalized the idea that He Hurts People and there's something fundamentally wrong with him, because it's easier to punish himself for that than it is to see himself as any kind of victim or acknowledge how little control he's had over most of his life. time and therapy have gotten him into a better place in the Alliance era and he's able to mostly come to terms with it, but it's something that never really leaves him completely.

What's the worst mistake your OC ever made? What led to them making it? Have they been able to fix it? How have they moved on? Arguably joining ImpInt at all, but he was 13 (lied about his age and the Imperial recruiter didn't know enough about cathar to dispute it) and there weren't really any better options. biggest mistake he could definitely have avoided was the raid on Tython. he'd already defected and started working as a double agent by that point, with the promise that he'd be extracted and granted amnesty in exchange, but that never happened, he was too valuable a resource and they kept stringing him along, so he was still functionally working as a Cipher and when he was sent to Tython, he could either have blown his cover or participated in the massacre, and probably out of habit/conditioning he chose the latter. it was a Very big mistake that would go on to haunt him for the rest of his life.

What does your OC have nightmares about? How do they deal with their nightmares? Do they tell people, or keep it to themself? nightmares are one of the most consistent symptoms of ptsd for him, to the point that he rarely has good dreams. not often about particular events, but Tython features somewhat frequently as do various elements of the Castellan Restraints, Hunter, and various Sith he's had run-ins with. there isn't usually much linear coherence to them. It's been a thing since the brainwashing debacle and at this point he considers it an annoyance more than anything, but he doesn't willingly sleep around people other than Vector, who is one of a relatively few people who know about it at all.
