I headcanon that Adaia was Dalish. But she voluntarily left at a young age when admonished by the elders for helping a human caravan defend themselves from a bandit raid. But there were elves in the caravan too! But the elders/Keeper didn’t care about the suffering of the city elves and it made Adaia mad. Her decision for voluntary exile was impulsive, but she was definitely an impulsive person, so she left with the caravan with a family (who happened to be Cyrion and his parents and siblings!) (She was like maybe 16/17 at the time).

BUT ANYWAY, while Adaia has rejected a lot of Dalish tradition/hostility/elitism and passed the sentiment onto Prescilla, she sees the importance of a history that is separate from humans, of a culture that’s dying/being stamped out. So she passed on some of the ideals to Prescilla I suppose so yeah, YOU DIDNT ASK FOR THIS, but I felt like explaining it. 

Basically they both just have a strong feeling of community with elves and while they see the need to adapt in a human world they don’t want it in the form of erasure/assimilation. So hearing a human singing an old Elven song passed on from Dalish is really unpleasant for Prescilla. ANYWAY, cheers. lol
