🏆 - Best friends (past, current or future)

Selora: Her best friend is Viago. Although best and friend are both pretty big stretches in terms of how they actually treat each other. There's a lot more balance between them after Veilguard, but it does not change that they're both pretty horrible at friendship. They do, however, know each other better than anyone else, as much as that can be true for either of them, just by virtue of having been close for as long as they were. Lucanis is a close second, and part of why she struggles so hard with the fear that she will lose him, but their relationship is complicated by also being romantic. Next to either of them is Neve and Davrin in terms of who she got close to during the course of Veilguard and who she remains close with after. Leithe: Her best friend has only ever been Davrin and that's really only true because he was persistent about being her friend at all. She did have other friends as a warden but most of them were because of Davrin, anyway. She did get pretty close to Taash while living at the Lighthouse, but all of the team are on the same level of being people she cares about. While she's in the Fade post-canon, she does often dream of their time in the Lighthouse like they're still there.

🌹 - First relationship

Selora: Her first and only relationship before Lucanis was with a barmaid in Salle named Letta who was a few years older than her. They used to work together to cheat gamblers in the tavern (some of you might recognize her from Opportunity Makes the Thief) but they weren't all that serious. Rather, young Sel was not all that serious and avoided most relationships that defined themselves as such. She's still good friends with Letta, though. Letta owns her own tavern now and Sel stops in to hang out with her whenever she's back in Salle :)

@khomabrutalist and I were talking about character stuff and she shared this image as an example of the dynamic between her Rook, Simonetta de Riva, and Illario, in one of the timelines where they end up together:

Which immediately brought an image into my mind that I had to draw a thumbnail sketch of or else I would combust. And I can't stop laughing about it.

Hanging out with @khomabrutalist and we're both drawing Illario in compromising situations.

Mine: him being ridden by @hightowerqueen's Beata de Riva with her hand tangled in his hair and the other poised to (lovingly) choke him. Hers: shirtless, emotionally devastated post-coital crying in Simonetta de Riva's lap.

Her, immediately following a conversation about his hair care routine and how silky it would be (and thus how fun it's gonna be to render it): "He's so stupid, what's wrong with him."

She barely gets the sentence out before we both say, in unison: "He's a Crow."

20. What's something they'd change about their partner?

Oof.

What Selora would change about Lucanis is how difficult it can be to change his mind once it's set. That's the thing she finds herself frustrated with the most, I think. To a degree, she understands the compartmentalization and avoidance. Enough to be empathetic to it, anyway, because otherwise it's like a pot-kettle situation. But when he digs his heels in about doing something and getting through to him is like beating a brick wall? That she would change, for sure.

What Lucanis would change about Selora is the secretiveness. You'd think it would be the fight picking or the penchant for puns or how much of his money she steals at cards, but you'd be wrong. Sel has had a lifetime of hoarding secrets that it's a hard habit to break, especially when she disappears for a bit without telling anyone what she's doing or where she's going. For someone who has and continues to receive an above average number of death threats, this :) is :) very :) stressful :) for him :) and he wishes she would not.

Hanging out with @khomabrutalist and we were talking about fic stuff.

I mentioned a bit that happens in the snippet I'm working on where, while visiting the Aldwir clan, Nera's grandmother gives Illario a mug of tea. He's drinking it, watching the clan getting things ready for night time, and thinking about how things went that day -- how he felt kind of out of place and such. He goes inside the aravel where Nera's setting up their sleeping stuff and she notices the tea and comments how nice it was for her grandmother to give him something for his nerves. And he's just like "Wat"

Pu-erh: What does your OC do when they’re stuck indoors for a day or two?

It would depend on the context as to how irritable she is about it, likely. If it’s for a job or similarly serious thing, she’ll suck it up. If it’s under duress (as in, if she’s sick or injured or otherwise being detained against her will, but is not in danger) she’s going to whine about it. In either case, as long as she has something to do with her hands, she’ll be fine. She’ll play with her knives and she used to braid her hair when it was long—things of that nature, if she’s just waiting around. If she knows she has enough time, she’ll poke at jewelry/weapon concepts and experiment. She finds poison making tedious, but she does make her own hair oil and perfume. But like. She will hit a point where she’ll start bargaining for her freedom if she’s not stimulated enough.
