Herb of the day - its a mystery! Suggestions welcome. I ordered a bag of cat nip from the herb shop (I'm based in Spain so maybe it was obviously lost in translation! As this is clearly not cat nip! Which is a grean leafy herb. I'm open to suggestions as to what it is! Not silky enough for corn silk not much of a smell at all. It is a real mystery to me. The label on the tin said herba de gato but maybe the shop had mixed them up?!?!? My firsr successful loofah grown feom seed. Loofahs are of the gourd familt and look a bit like cucmbers qhen they are growing. When you leave them to dry out the fibera become a natural sponge. Eco friendly and 100% recyclable. All house holds should use these types of spong and save on the waste of sponges made feom manmade fibers. I only got one this year from 4 seeds but it produced a huge pile of seeds so I will be planting them soon in the hope that I can grow many more and next year be self sufficient in eco sponges. Herb of the day Mullin This grows all around me wild so I forage it and dry it out in a basket near to my woodburner. Its an expectorant so great for respiratory disorders where it was used to treat asthma, coughs, tuberculosis, and related respiratory problems. Good for ear ache and inner ear infections too.
