Seated on the nose of a Japanese Kawasaki Ki—61 “Tony” fighter aircraft,(c/n 263, later XJ003 and later still TAIC 9) a U.S. airman studies the details of its structure while other flyers on the ground examine its single engine. It was captured on an airfield at New Britain in the Southwest Pacific. March 10, 1944.
