Even in the midst of a pandemic, there are bright spots and blessings everywhere. There is no plant sale this year, all the flowers will go in my garden. It's just past midnight and I am just turning off the light on my old Singer Heavy Duty machine. I've been at mask making for 9 hours today. And no flimsy masks. Today's pattern is the one I get the most requests for: tightly woven cotton exterior, tightly woven cotton interior, with a filter layer of @Rakot75 sewn right in. We are getting better at this with each batch. Double metal nose wire helps it fits snugly on the face and sturdy cordage ties keep it from moving around. The better it fits, the better it works. The CDC has issued appeals to reserve N95 masks for medical professionals and those required by law to wear them. So, this is our best effort to date. Feedback from firefighters, shipyard workers, and moms doing gouble duty have led to the improvements in this pattern.
