K is for Kickpuncher!

I know Kickpuncher was kind of a minor thing, but I love what it was for the characters in the show. It was so fun to see Troy & Abed sharing this movie with Shirley, Chang, and Pierce. (Even if Pierce sucked the fun out of the second one.) And the remake that Troy and Abed made for fun! Also Abed watched Kickpuncher on his ‘date’ with that Secret Service agent?

I think the whole episode with Hickey and Abed from S5 when Hickey handcuffs Abed to the filing cabinets is an interesting exploration of both of their characters. I won’t get into it too much, but I think it relates so much to missing Troy and kind of being left alone. (That being said, I do love Annie & Abed’s friendship in the later seasons to remedy this.) I think Abed grows a lot after Troy leaves, but still retains his interests and enthusiasm for his prior interests.
