Kicktone's going to MIDEM!
You might have read it in the papers or watched it on the news: Kicktone is headed to Cannes, France in February to pitch at the prestigious Midemlab startup competition!
This is a fantastic recognition of the growth we've experienced over the last three months, and we're exceptionally proud to be the only Australian company out of the 30 companies invited to pitch in France.
We'll have a chance to meet talented artists from around the world, along with hundreds of promoters and producers and record labels and other industry heavies. We'll do our best to spread to word about Kicktone and promote the wonderful content you've shared and sold through Kicktone so far.
One important correction: a press release we sent out a few weeks ago incorrectly said Kicktone was the first Australian startup ever to be invited to the Midemlab pitching competition, a fact we not only got wrong but which we got spectacularly wrong - in 2011, an amazing startup from Perth called Discovr were not only invited to pitch, but actually won the competition! On the way to Cannes, we'll be stopping through Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Paris, London, Scotland and a bunch of other places to meet with some of the artists using Kicktone today.
