I drew a Chimera because why not.

The bottom Chimera was my first attempt, for which I used a lion’s face as reference and ran out of room for the paws. Then I took what I didn’t like and changed it for the second version.

The Chimera on the top has a shorter body, more defined haunches, and I used a Cheetah cub for the face instead of a lion. I think it turned out a lot better to the point where I decided to plot and shade it out a bit. For future versions I would probably have mounted the horns a bit further up on the head and adjusted the muzzle even more to make the forehead shorter. Apart from that I’m satisfied.

I wanted to do this practice so I could draw Fig Stew, and Beagle coconut. Then I’d have a good base so I can go in and warp it to make Nightmare Coconut and Golden Coconut.

Anyway if your first attempt is fugly and not up to your standards go at it again until you’re satisfied. You can take a picture and then warp it in a drawing app until you have the dimensions you want and then use your digital sketch as a reference for your physical drawing.

And remember, no matter how bad you may think it is, keep going because it’s made by you, and nobody can take that away.
