M (5yrs, wistfully, out of the blue, while eating lunch): I remember a time when we went plumbing. Me: Plumbing? Like, fixing our house’s pipes? M: Yeah. Remember the holes we made? .....um. Yes. They made a very different impression on me, I guess.
What’s in a banana?
J (almost 3yrs), at supper: "What is in a banana peel?" Daddy: "I don't know... probably cellulose?... nutrients the banana needs..." J waits a moment to let him speculate, then announces: "No... a banana!"
