Azriel stares at you, unblinking. Even as he keeps his face impressively blank you catch a bright scarlet shade rise up his cheeks and ears. You can hardly process the fact that Azriel is blushing because he turns away. "Thank you," he says, curt, before he audibly clears his throat and continues.

Vale quirks a brow, folding their arms in front of their chest. The smile that spreads across their attractive features is both alluring and intimidating; a look that seems to peer right through you in a way that makes you feel exposed. "I can show you many things that will prove I'm not as good as you think." Oh.

Namara regards you a moment, something sharp in her eyes. "And what about you?" She saunters over, leaning in close. You catch a sly smile grow on her face. "Have you been good?"

Ceris clears their throat, absently pulling on the a white strand of their hair. "Uh, I--" They swallow again. "Right." Their cheeks flame, and they rub at it as if they can physically wipe away the red tint from their skin. They quickly speed away, trying to put as much distance between you and them as much as possible.

Drenwin grins, humorously bowing low. "Thank you, I try." When he straightens again, his eyes are bright with mischief. "What's my reward? Hm?"

Taleea quirks a brow, amused. "Good girl? Is that a thing now?"

"Do you want it to be a thing?"

She tilts her head, thinking about it. Her smile is small but bright, her eyes glittering when she speaks again. "Only if I can say it back."

???'s eyes widen briefly before they go back to their dull, half-lidded state. "Hm." You can't tell how they feel about what you just said, but they don't look particularly bothered.

Arwen/Arya laughs a little, tilting their head at you to peer at you better. "Oh, am I?" At your surprise, their grin only widens. "So are you." They try to flick at your forehead, laughing at your attempt to move away. "Cute."

Can you tell us the tropes for each route, if there are any?

I hardly know what labels would be for any of their tropes so I'll just explain them ig lol!

Judging on MC's choices, they can all be enemies to lovers I suppose. Aside from Taleea and Drenwin, mostly because Drenwin's carefree/easygoing personality doesn't lend well to an enemies/rivals trope. He'd never hate MC.

As for Taleea, MC can be mean to Taleea but the enemies part would be one-sided as she'd be more so understanding of MC's anger.

EDIT: ALSO they're all slow burns aside from Vale, who you can have a fwb relationship before romancing. yup.

Azriel: bodyguard romance? Enemies to lovers. Monster "I'm not worthy of being loved" angst//the will-do-anything-in-his-power-to-stay-away

???: Enemies to lovers/villain romance/hunter, hunted dynamic/dark romance?

Ceris: Forbidden romance. Some more I can't say as it would be spoilery.//Like Azriel, they will do everything to stay away but for other reasons.//

Vale: the non-committal player who doesn't believe in romance//possibe fwb to lovers//the tragic romantic past//something else I can't say.

Arwen/Arya: childhood friends to lovers//arranged marriage//lying to the other party//will they, wont they//

Drenwin: friends to lovers//drenwin falls first?//by far the 'softest' route

Taleea: friends to lovers//fear of falling in love//some fae-centric fears that would be spoilery!

Sorry this isn't sufficient but most of the themes of their romances are very involved in the actual plot of the story so I can't say much!

whoops I meant to ask on anon: What do the ROs think they want in a partner? What do they actually want?

Azriel: Someone who can look the other way and not ask any questions.

Azriel: what they actually want? Someone who will accept him as he is, true form and all.

Drenwin: Someone who is acceptable by his parent's standards.

Drenwin: Someone who does not care for their opinion and is with Drenwin for Drenwin, not what his name can do for them.

Namara is interesting because hers is the same: Someone who does not care for the titles imposed on her compared to the title she chose.

Taleea: A member of the fae, so she can be more accepted by pure fae in her community.

Taleea: Someone who just loves her <3

???: they want no partner. they want xxx back

???: deeply they actually want someone to mend the wound that was cut open all those years ago...someone who can see who they really are

Vale: no relationship. no strings attached. someone who understands that

Vale: they actually want someone who accepts the darkest parts of them, even with their messy past

Ceris: someone acceptable under the Church, if they had the option

Ceris: a person who sees Ceris as sees more than the institution they are under. sees Ceris as their own person.

A: a person with a title who will make their family proud

A: a person who can take them away from all that. or at least, someone who knows that there's more to life than royalty

i imagine the fantasy world might get a little boring without social media and internet, so what happens when the MC tries a trust fall with the ROs? like they stand on edge of a table and let themselves free fall trying to see who care (*imagines Azzy just letting them fall and get themselves a good ok concussion lol*)

This is so funny because Azzy WOULD literally step aside and let MC fall and then just look down blankly while MC is groaning in pain. Or if MC tries to do it at ground level he would definitely put MC in a head lock or something out of reflex.

MC: "What are you doing?!" Azzy: "I thought you were attacking me."

MC: "Backwards??"

Azzy: "I don't know the ways of your people."

Azriel is kind of...jumpy. And paranoid. And combative.

Drenwin would catch MC and then think it's the funniest thing in the world and start doing it to random people. Just...in random conversations he'd try it to see what would happen and get many people angry at him.

Drenwin: "hey watch this" *proceeds to throw himself on a snack table or something* (I don't think he completely understands what a trust fall is...)

Vale would also catch MC and then make a quip or a flirtatious joke about their closeness. Something like, "If you wanted me to hold you, you could've just asked." They would also definitely say something like, "I'm using that to pick someone up."

MC: "You think a trust fall is going to work?"

Vale: "With this face anything works."

Namara wouldn't know what to do so her reflexes would have her putting her hands out not to catch MC but to stop MC from falling on her. Namara is quite tall too so MC won't be going anywhere lol

Namara: "Is this behavior normal for you?"

MC: *shrug* "I don't have Wi-Fi"

Like Azriel, Ceris can be quite jumpy but they're mostly shy (aside from when they get angry) so they'd probably just cower and cover their head thinking MC is going to fall on them. Ceris and MC would both just fall to the ground. And then Ceris would be pissed that MC just...decided to do that ?@#%

Taleea would catch MC but be upset that MC is putting themselves in danger for no reason. "You could've seriously hurt yourself!" and would scold MC for being reckless, but she'd find it (secretly) funny.

Arwen/Arya would catch MC and then try it themselves and ask MC to catch them. It would become a recurring game where they'd now do it to each other randomly as a fun joke. A would go further and do it during important meetings or tense moments on purpose to see if MC would play along, just to purposely mess with them.

??? would be like Azriel and let MC fall. Even if they can catch MC they'd just...stand there.

???: "You didn't think that through, did you?"

Nsfw question farther along in the future the MC and their LI are in an established enough relationship that they've been physically intimate with each other, and are attending some boring formal event. How would the various ROs react to the MC suggesting they both sneak away from their social obligations for a bit of sexy fun?

Because lbr the party may be boring but they are both all dressed up and looking so fine, it'd be a shame to go to all the trouble and not have some enjoyable memories of the evening. Besides, the palace is probably big enough to find some secluded spot for a quickie, an unused room or alcove, a quiet bench in the hedge maze, maybe even the empty throne room if they're feeling especially adventurous?

Arwen/Arya would be up for it and it wouldn't be the first time they've done something of that nature. They're very sweet and an accommodating host but they get quite bored easily. A is kind of like a kid in that sense; they must always be entertained! A usually does that already with other people in the nobility so they'd have the perfect spots and they wouldn't be shy at all.

Ceris....is sexually inexperienced so it depends on where MC and Ceris are at in terms of sex. In the beginning it'd be a very firm no, mostly out of fear. It'd take a lot of time to get them comfortable with doing stuff like that even after Ceris and MC have taken that next step. They're just not very bold like that. Plus, they are very private in terms of romance and sex. They prefer that to be something just between them and their partner. They're not big on PDA either 😭I think it can happen just...well, I don't know. Probably not, actually.

Namara would need just a bit of coaxing but she'd get enthusiastic quite quickly! Though I don't imagine Namara as someone who is adept in being...sneaky when it comes to stuff like that. If you want a high chance to get caught, take Namara lmao

I feel like Vale's is quite obvious but they'd already be waiting for MC before MC even realizes lmao In fact they wouldn't even care about sneaking away from the crowds: "Let them watch!" Vale has done things publicly before they're not very shy.

Drenwin wouldn't think about it but then when he's actually there he'd get nervous. He'd be a bit paranoid considering his family name, so he'd fumble around and have shaky hands and not be as smooth as usual.

Taleea would be very nervous. She'd be the one that sort of has to follow instead of lead. Like Azriel and Drenwin she would be quite paranoid.

For Azriel this actually goes back to the heavy petting thing. In military academy he had to do a lot of sneaking around so he's pretty skilled in *that* regard but he's also high-strung so abandoning his duties for an event would make him paranoid and antsy 😭 but in a deeper relationship he wouldn't really be able to resist the temptation when it came to MC so he'd be up for it, though the whole time his head would be whipping around in paranoia they're going to get caught and he'll keep asking MC, "is this okay? is this smart? i fear we're breaking quite a few rules here..."

I don't know if it'd apply to ??? but if they were to find themselves with MC in a formal event they'd agree. They don't really give a shit about the opinions of others and hate all the glitz and politics of events lol (not that they find themselves in one often.)
