That moment when you realize the delicious sandwich you made yourself is a little too big to fit into your teeny tiny mouth. #teenytinyfoodie #teenytinysouschef #someproblemsaregoodproblems #creatingateenytinyfoodie #wecookwednesday #kidscancook #kidsinthekitchen #kidscookmonday
"See how it's flat like that? That's because I leveled it." 💕💕💕 Was there flour all over the counter, her step stool and the floor? Yep! Did it take about 25 times longer to measure the flour than if I had done it? Yep! But did she feel confident and proud as a result of doing it by herself? Absolutely. And that's worth all the extra mess and extra time it takes when cooking with kids versus cooking alone. #creatingateenytinyfoodie #cookingwithkids #kidsinthekitchen #kidscookmonday #curiouschef #kidscancook #cookwithyourkids

Yesterday we started another round of #teenytinychefs cooking classes for kids in NYC. Bananas were the featured ingredient and we used them to make Banana People and Fruity Milkshakes. At the end of class the kids drew pictures of what we did and I LOVE their different interpretations. One little one chose to draw his friend drinking a milkshake, another one began drawing the milkshake recipe and a third drew the big purple milkshake she drank. One of the greatest things about hanging out with kids is that you never know what you’ll get! Want to print a copy of our #free illustrated Toddler Recipe for fruity milkshakes? Cooking with kids is as easy as counting to 3. Or 5 or 10+ depending on your sous chef and your recipe. Here Eliana counts to 10 while pouring out a stream of olive oil for a recipe we made together. Kids can participate in the cooking process and strengthen their math skills by counting up to a developmentally appropriate number while performing a variety of tasks. Put your sous chef in charge of counting up to a specific number while simultaneously stirring, whisking, pouring, scooping or holding down the buttons on a blender or food processor. You can always have her count again (and again) or you can continue counting if the mixture needs more stirring/whisking pouring etc when the target number is reached. Try it out and get counting and cooking with your teeny tiny sous chef this weekend! #teenytinyfoodie #teenytinysouschef #creatingateenytinyfoodie #cookingwithtoddlers #cookingwithkids #kidscancook #kidsinthekitchen #teachingfromthekitchen #kidscookmonday
