Maya Soetoro-Ng, otherwise known as President Obama's "little sis", will be at the Library this Thursday at 4 pm, reading her new children's book Ladder to the Moon. The program is part of the Library's KidsLIVE series and is free for children and adults. (The program is for both.) Maya Soetoro-Ng -- who is named after Maya Angelou -- will also talk about her writing, how the book came about, and answer questions from the audience.
Ladder to the Moon is a modern-day fable relaying the loving wisdom of a departed grandmother to a granddaughter she never met. It is inspired by Maya and Barack's (we can call him Barack, right?) mom, as well as Maya's four year-old daughter.
In addition to being free, this event is first come, first serve. It will be held in the South Court Auditorium of the Library's Stephen A. Schwarzman Building at Fifth Avenue @ 42nd Street.
