Young Kieran

“Father..?” Kieran’s voice wavered slightly as he approached the other, a look of apprehension on his face. There were so many questions going through his head, and yet he barely had enough composition to voice any of them. Where were they? Where was the mansion? Why? Always clinging to the other when he was scared, Kieran found himself reached out to grab his father’s arm. “What is this place? It seems odd.”
It had been many, many years since Gracey had last heard a young voice that belonged to his son, almost not even recognizing it. But, when his eyes landed on the younger, he could hardly believe it. He allowed the boy to hold his arm, a bit too dazed to do much else. When Kieran was younger, it wasn’t unusual for the boy to retreat to his father for protection. And, no matter how many times Gracey attempted to teach Kieran not to do so, it was always hard for the man to see the hurt face that would follow afterwards. “It seems to be quite odd indeed. Some strange magic has befallen both of us -- you moreso than me. Do you not recall coming to this place?”
