It was over a month since the two souls met again. Kihta was sad, worried that she did something wrong and would not see Mitsune ever again. her heart was relieved when he returned from his harrowing, heartbreaking forray into Coerthas. After losing his long lost love, Hild, Mitsune returned a broken man, his will to do anything shattered and thinking it was unrepairable. He was lucky to have someone like Kihta who was wanting to ease his pain.
Through an unfortunate event, their feelings for each other bloomed. She consoled him as he came to terms with his loss and help him move on without him losing hope in everything. Mitsune was her best friend and didn’t want him to disappear again on her, she couldn’t let that happen to him. He was a good man and she saw that in him, hoping she would draw that spirit out of him to help him through his darkest times.
After a few weeks of spending more time together than before, the two grew almost inseperable. She even invited him to her apartment one night when she was too afraid to sleep. He watched over her, working on his own contracts ledgers. He smiled back to watch the gentle creature sleep softly. Deny all he tried, he had feelings for her now, maybe it was something more than friends.
Mitsune was always a playful flirt around people he liked. It usually involved some teasing, jokes, or even some rivalry between whoever he liked. Past the first and very dark evening they first met each other, things went rather well. It was a strange turn of events for the two of them to even meet, which was by pure chance. He was after a dangerous criminal and she was just curious and wanted to watch it all unfold. She got a little more than she bargained for when he ended the man in front of her eyes.
However, that didn’t deter Kihta. They met again after that, shortly after. After explaining the man was awful, Kihta understood why he did what he did. They even met a couple of more times after that, coming closer together and eventually becoming friends. They told awful jokes to each other and laughed about various things to keep their minds off of the dark things happening at the time. He’d flirt with her playfully from time to time even though deep down there was something more he yearned for.
After seeing him without his shirt on at a massive beach event, she started to fluster up every time he was around, especially when her brother asked what she thought of Mitsune. He didn’t agree on their union but it didn’t matter to either of them. Their personalities matched perfectly despite their backgrounds or even their race. When they were with each other, the problems of the world seemed to fade away and left them together to tell each other their silly jokes.
It was nice to be home from the harrowing trip from Doma. Mitsune confronted his grandfather about the origins of his dark powers. To his disappointment it was his own grandfather that cursed him to continue the family tradition of slaying demons, whether he wanted it or not. Maybe one day he could remove the burdon of the power but for now he was going to use it to protect those he loved and cared for.
The two of them sat side by side upon the beach where they always spoke to each other before admitting their love for one another. It was most certainly the place where their love grew for one another and continued to do so. Even when things were dark and grim, she was always there for him. Always there to guide him back to the light. He held her in his arms tightly as they were both silent, the waves over the ocean flowing along the shore.
Mitsune stood with Kihta, stairing up at the massive gates that led into the ancient lands of Yanxia. That horrible, dark voice crept into his head even more since they arrived in the land. He did not explain why he chose to come to Kugane with Kihta, but this was why. He wanted to know why the voice had returned and why it was not silent when they finished the task in Coerthas. The spirit he knew was put to rest and he inherited the power so why was it not gone? Not unless the source came from someone else....
Kihta stared up at the gates with wide-eyed wonder, curious as to what lie in wait with her own eyes and not simply from tales she had heard. Breathing out, she looked up and over to Mitsune and lofted a dark brow, "How are you feeling?"
Mitsune stared to the gate. He shook his head slightly and frowned, "I don't know anymore. Something is wrong with me. I need to find out why..."
Placing her hand on his arm gently, Kihta continued to look up at him and shook her head, "Mitsune, I do not believe anything is wrong with you. We are simply putting together pieces to a puzzle. Nothing more, hm?" She smiled a little, hoping her gesture may help encourage him in a positive manner. She didn't like to see him like this. "Just know, that whatever we discover, we do so together."
"I don't know why but that voice in my head suddenly started again a couple of weeks ago before my father decided to come after me. It wanted me to come back to this place. I don't know why. I feel like I've been pulled by some invisible string my entire life and I have no idea why."
The Keeper squeezed his arm gently before moving both of her hands to her sides, hovering by each of her chakrams. With a nod, she looked ahead, ready for what might come, "Well, don't you think it strange this voice is pulling you to your birth lands? Perhaps there's something you need to learn, and quite honestly - I am rather excited to learn more of you. Of your kin."
Mitsune heard something nearby. His senses were heightened from the power he inherited from the dark knight before. He drew his sword slowly the power crackling in darkened lightning along his blade. Suddenly, the blade's magic stopped and his eyes grew wide, "I'm not..."
Kihta's ears flicked back a couple of times, also picking up something along the breeze that fell upon them and drifted through the gates that stood before them. Her hands now firmly gripped her weapons at each of her sides, a song started to well up within her, "What was that?"
No less than six dark figures clad in dark robes jumped from various places lying in ambush. Their brandished their weapons and charged at Mitsune, whose powers now waned. Something they possessed kept his own powers from manifesting. Even without them he was still a capable swordsmen, and killed the very first combatant with a swift stroke of his blade through the enemy's skull.
Kihta bared her sharp canines at the surprise assault, her body moving in tune to a dance only she could hear within her. The aether around her form began to shimmer and cocooned around both herself and Mitsune, some sort of shared partnership to her newly gained skill to aid in fueling Mitsune's attacks to something even more potent than before; even though his power waned. "Friends of your father?" Kihta inquired, looking about them as her chakrams spun towards an advancing foe - spinning around the robed figured and knocking he or she back.
The robed figure was sliced by the chakrams and was thrown backwards from the impact of the blades. Mitsune collided with a couple of other robed figures. They deflected and parried one another before Mitsune was struck with a blade in his side. He snarled, swinging his sword through the chest of one of the enemies, almost cutting him in half. The other warrior took the opportunity to slice into Mitsune's leg before Mitsune backhanded the enemy before hurling his blade through the head of the ambusher, slicing his head in half.
The Keeper seemed to just dance in the midst of the battle, but it was much more than that. One of the robed figures stopped, suddenly entranced by the dancer's movements - giving the woman ample time to send another attack towards the foe. Her chakrams sung a melody as it sailed with the wind, slicing the robed figure in two - yet the other one continued after Kihta, unfazed by her movements. Spinning out of the way from a spear jabbing towards her, Kihta narrowed her eyes and spun quicker, zipping ahead in the blink of an eye. "You're gonna have to do better than that!"
As soon as she said that, Mitsune did a stumbling charge at the adversary with the spear. He lopped off the figure's head with a mighty cleave of his blade. He coughed up blood and fell to his knees before falling into a stream that was nearby them. With that the fight was over, at the cost of Mitsune's own health
Once their foes had been defeated, Kihta watched as Mitsune fell to his knees. Rushing towards his side, the Keeper knelt down into the stream at his side, placing a hand upon his primary wound. "Bear with me," she whispered to him. "I am still learning how to do this." Closing her eyes, the Keeper ushered in the coolness of the water around them and channeled them around the two - ushering them into the wounds of her beloved, hoping to aid in healing him enough that they could carry on. "We have a long way to go, and you are far from done in your journey, my love."
The healing helped him enough to get back up to his feet, "Let me make this a little faster..." The air turned silent as a low, humming noise turned into a tsunami of sound. Black magic poured forth from Mitsune and soared over the corpses of their enemies. In an instant, he drained blood and remaining life force from them in order to heal himself quickly, the wounds physically sealing up quickly within only a few second. He glared in anger as he picked up his sword and placed it on his back, "Just the first step."
Without a word, she rose to her feet and held out her hand to him and just smiled, "Come, my love, we have a much larger journey ahead of us. Let us not delay."
The walker's two gatling weapons whirred in a devilish frenzy before belching out a massive amount of bullets towards him. He threw up a magical shell as the onslaught pelted him, but not before getting riddled by a few of the bullets. He responded by firing out a few bolts of energy in return, making one of the guns explode in a shower of metal and sparks.
Rounding the ruined corner, Kihta gasped at the sight of the enormous walker straight ahead. With a frown, she sighed and doubled back around the corner - taking an alternate route around the construct, the Miqo'te aimed to sneak around it to where she wouldn't risk being hit by the shots it continued to fire off. Surprised by the lack of any surprises waiting for her in the direction she ran off into, she rounded another corner and found herself some several feet away from the unsuspecting walker. As quickly as she could, she fired off a couple of arrows - aiming for the weaker areas of the walker; its corded joints where she successfully severed the other weapon.
The machine turned to face Kihta in response to the new attacker. Mitsune took this opportunity to charge at the machine, powering his weapon with dark energy. The violet lightning crackled along the edge of the blade as he swung it into one of the legs, which tore a massive hole through it and sundering the joints that made that leg function properly. The machine responded by throwing a massive kick at the Xaela, knocking him back quite a distance. He smashed into a piece of debris, smashing the wind out of him. The machine then turned its attention to Kihta and powered up its main cannon for a powerful blast.
"Mits!" Kihta cried out watching the Xaela being flung back in the violent manner he had been. As the machine turned upon her, the Miqo'te's eyes widened in panic, running back down the way she had come from, trying to dodge the blast. If she could make it chase her, she might have time to think.
Mitsune trembled as he propped his arm up on the debris behind him, gripping it tightly with his other hand. He pulled himself up, trembling from the loss of blood from the bullets and the impact from the mechanical beast's leg. He coughed up blood underneath his helm as he weakly held up his sword. He watched the monstrosity power it's cannon and aim it right for Kihta. It fired on her and it missed. But only barely. The blast annihilated a piece of a nearby metal wall sending fragmentations at her. A few sliced into Kihta's leg as the monster opened up it's back, revealing a rack of missiles.
Kihta winced in pain, biting back crying out as she continued to race around another corner - and then another, putting as much distance between herself and that monstrosity as she could. She wasn't naive enough to think that her arrows stood a chance against that thing, so the only thing she could think to do was to keep running - maybe she might confuse its operator and give Mitsune time to recuperate enough to put a stop to it. Her eyes welled up with tears in worry for him - what if he still lie in that pile of rubble?
Mitsune's wounds were heavy, and he realized he was going to go unconscious before he bled out. He winced as the machine readied it's missiles. The dark knight knew he had to do something that was abhorrent in the eyes of many. He closed his eyes, feeling a dark power surge up from within him. He felt the world surrounding him shudder, and hallowed roars of some unholy power came flowing forth. Those who were alive but wounded had their lives instantly snuffed out as their life force drained into Mitsune. The surrounding wild life and vegetation died, the wind screamed in agony. Anyone still alive could feel some uneasiness or even sickness wash over them. He was channeling black magic.
"Dammit," Kihta huffed, wincing again in pain as she continued to run - she could still feel the tremble of the earth beneath her feet, alerting her that the walker was still hot on her trail. Another blast shook the perimeter as it missed her and hit the building she had just ran around, sending bits of debris flinging this way and that. Something didn't feel right suddenly, her stomach churned noting the sensation had come from the area she had last seen Mitsune. Taking in a deep breath, Kihta turned once and fired a round of arrows at the walker - hoping there might be a weak point she might hit as she started for Mitsune. "This wasn't such a great idea! We need to go, Mits! Something isn't...." Her voice trailed off seeing the blackened area she happened upon - her fur rising on its ends.
The Dark Knight opened his eyes which were now blood red and violet. Power resonated around him with crimson and violet trails of magic swirling. Reddened lightning crackled along his body, pulsing with raw, untapped power. The machine turned around, detecting a new threat as Kihta ran out of its sight. Mitsune slowly held up his hand before a blast of dark sprang from his hand, smashing into the head of the combat walker. It's joint pulsed with black magic, seemingly paralyzed. Mitsune grabbed the sword with both hands and charged with inhuman speed and went underneath of the machine. He swung upwards as he went through, slicing through its underside like butter as he ended up behind it. The machine buckled and made a whining metallic noise as oil and sparks sprayed out from underneath it. A few seconds later it ignited in a massive explosion that ripped through the surrounding area. As the smoke cleared, Mitsune still stood, unharmed by the massive blast.
Running to Mitsune, Kihta looked him over intently - carefully examining his form for injuries. "Mits, are you alright?" She breathed, hoping nothing larger and more complicated to deal with would rear its ugly head in the brief reprieve. "Wh...what now?"
Mitsune looked at the wreckage. Before turning to look at Kihta in some kind of mental haze. He only looked up to where Aelfgar ran off to. He trembled with the new dark power he wielded as his own blood and the blood of others covered him, "I'm finishing this. Now...." He hustled after placing his sword upon his back. His speed picked up as he bolted up the nearby flight of stairs leading to the last intact area.
Kihta blinked as she looked after him, somewhat in disbelief as he carried on through the thick of it all. She saw that haze once before, and she didn't quite feel comfortable seeing it again - and sure enough, she took off after him. "No way am I letting you do this alone," she huffed to herself in pursuit of Mitsune.
Bleeding, full of rage, and pulsing with his newfound energy, Mitsune stormed up the ramp to meet his enemy head on. Awaiting him were almost a dozen heavily armed soldiers. They were clad in heavy armor, wielding gunblades, and pointed all of their weapons at him. Behind them was their fearless leader Aelfgar, running as fast as he could for an airship that was getting ready for lift off. He walked towards them, pointing his weapon at the nearest one. He grinned evilly as the black magic cackled around him like some mad demon, "Time to die."
Not far behind, Kihta arrived on the platform though she stayed a few steps behind on the ramp so that she could give herself some cover should she need it. Immediately, she fired an arrow at one of the guards and was already in the process of nocking another one as the first arrow went sailing for her target. "He's getting away!"
The guard was shot right in the abdomen as the arrow pierced his armor. He fell back in pain, clutching the wound as he yelled out. The others opened fire on Mitsune and Kihta. The hail of bullets came at them like a furious rain. Mitsune charged through the hail, his black magic shielding him from the assault. The bullets deflected, whizzing off into the distance like an angry nest of hornets. He launched his attack soon after and his blade sang a dark song as it bit into his foes, slicing through their armor like it did not exist. The four he attacked first fell into multiple pieces, blood and gore sloshing on the ground as the blade tore into them like some unholy creature, ravenous for their flesh.
Kihta ducked back down under the landing where she was taking cover, waiting for the onslaught of bullets to end. When she was sure she had timed enough quiet moments in passing between each firing round, she poked her head back up and began firing another round of arrows for any of the guards Mitsune had not yet taken out. Kihta's arrows sliced into the armor of the soldiers. One arrow went through the helmet of one of them, ensuring a quick death. The other slammed into the chest of another, felling him. Bullets punched into the area around her, some of them actually breaking through parts of the cover she was behind.
As the enemy ran low on ammunition, they charged at the dark knight. Mitsune responded in kind by unleashing a torrent of powerful swings, slicing through their armor, hacking apart their weapons, and breaking their bodies. He easily deflected their blows when they were able to get a swing in before being torn apart. Mitsune, tiring of the fight and not wanting his prey to get away started to channel even more black magic. The energy howled through his weapon as black and crimson lightning arcs jumped along the blade of his weapon. He swung the blade, tearing a hole in the reality around him. The abyss seemed to open up momentarily upon the enemies before it suddenly collapsed in a violent explosion that turned the rest of them into bloody ribbons as body parts and gore showered him and the surrounding platform.
Kihta gasped as one of the bullets nearly missed her head. Running up onto the platform, she saw that the rest of the guards were already taken care of - deeming it safer to venture out alongside Mitsune. She watched him with large eyes, seeing the way he moved and channeled darker magics like she had never seen before. "When did you learn to do all of that?" She asked herself. "And where?" Knowing she likely wouldn't get much of a solid answer right yet, she readied herself with another arrow
The engines of a nearby airship begin to churn. He snarled as he held forth his hand. Dark magic funneled through his body from the surrounding area, fueling his power. The magic coalesced into an orb of crimson and black swirling magic which hovered over his outstretched hand. He gripped it within his hand before smashing the orb into his body. It was absorbed into him as it jumped along his body like red circuitry. He glared as the ship began to take off, his engines whining as it struggled to make it's get away, "No." He clenched his hand into a dragon's claw as a horrendously loud bolt of black and crimson lightning shot from his hand like a cannon. It hit the ship it one of its engines which exploded a few seconds later. The ship made a screeching metallic noise before plummeting back to the landing pad they stood on. A portion of it exploded as the machine toppled over. A moment passed as Mitsune stared blankly at the wreckage before Aelfgar came crawling out of it, his leg battered and bloody and his head looking much the same.
Kihta fell back onto her bottom as the ship collided back with the platform, some of her arrows scattering around her from her quiver. When she saw Aelfgar emerge, she shouted to Mitsune, "Now's your chance!"
Aelfgar looked to the two of them as he stopped crawling momentarily. He reached to his side, drawing a pistol out as he pointed it towards Mitsune. The dark knight stomped forward as Aelfgar fired shot after shot into the murderous warrior. None of the shots connected as aura shattered the bullets on impact. Aelgar pulled the trigger once more but only clicks answered him and his face went pale. Mitsune ended it by bringing the blade through the weapon and into Aelfgar's arm. He shrieked in pain as his arm was sliced in half vertically to his elbow, leaving half of his hand and arm connected as the other fell to the ground. Mitsune placed his sword back on his back as he saw his enemy bleed on the ground in pain. He enjoyed watching it.
Kihta moved to her feet quickly as she gathered her arrows up and her bow, turning around once to make sure no one else followed them. When she was certain it was just them, she turned back around and made her way towards Mitsune and Aelfgar. She nodded to Mitsune.
Mitsune smiled under his helmet and snatched the weakened Aelfgar by his throat, digging his spiked claws into Aelfgar's neck, choking him. He grinned evilly, pleased to see the pain his prey was in as his voice became dark, hollow, and unnerving. Aelgar's expression turned into fear as the blood leaked from his wounds and heard Mitsune's voice. "That terror on your face. It is invigorating."
Mitsune chuckled as he gripped tighter around his neck, "There is no escape this time, Aelfgar." He didn't have the strength to fight against the Xaela in his current state nor could he in his prime, "You had best pray to any misbegotten gods you worship. Because you're are about to meet them."
As he finished, Mitsune's claws sliced into Aelfgar's neck, burrowing deeply into his throat. He slowly and painfully pulled back, ripping out tendons and muscles as a massive gout of gore poured forth onto both Aelfgar and Mitsune. The dark knight yanked backwards, tearing out the entirety of the area, leaving a visceral amount of bloodshed. Aelfgar tried to catch his breath but only the gurgling warmth of blood greeted him. He fell to the ground, his body convulsing and twitching as the last of his life seeped onto the cold, unforgiving metal platform.
Kihta gasped, unable to look. Turning her head, she cringed as she could hear the sounds made by the gruesome death the man received. She shook a little, quivering a bit as she took a step away from the area and neared the edge of the platform looking out for any new enemies. As she did this, rain started to fall once more.
Mitsune looked down at the corpse of the man that led him to the life he had now. He pulled off his helmet and tossed it beside him as the rain washed off the gore he was drenched in. He breathed in deeply, tasting and smelling the death and fire around him. He closed his eyes and his body trembled from the realization that revenge was finally his.
The dark knight plotted this moment for so long. All of his patience, reconnaissance, and planning was coming to fruition. Mitsune could taste the premonition of blood upon the salty night sky. He was the lightning and the bellowing thunder that came after. He would have his revenge. He closed his eyes, feeling the power within him. It had grown considerable over the past year. It had grown so much that it sometimes frightened him. He saw the lights of the ceruleum facility from a distance as his face transformed into a demonic scowl.
The familiar voice, once thought long gone, returned to him for the last time this night.
Make him pay. Make them all pay, Mitsune....
Kihta was ever true to her word as always; at Mitsune's side as she gazed ahead into the distance. A chill ran up her spine as the sky lit up and clattered all around them, setting in tune to whatever awaited them ahead. With her face concealed from view with one of the masks she had grown accustomed to wearing for Chimera's missions, she looked to Mitsune and frowned behind it as raindrops pitter pattered upon her hood. "What if we are outnumbered?" She inquired, knowing this would be probable as she very much regretted not going with her gut and even just forcing the help she knew Mitsune needed on such crusades.
Mitsune kept looking ahead as he dismounted from his chocobo. He glanced over to her, placing his helmet upon his head once more and spoke again, "We will be. But I have something planned."
"Please, Mitsune..." Kihta continued to gaze upon him, the tone in her voice showing all too clear how worried she was. "You know I'm not much for these types of surprises. I hope you will fill me in on what you have planned."
Mitsune turned his head back towards the facility, frowning underneath of his spiked helm. He let out a long sigh before speaking to her once more, "You can turn back now if you need to, Kihta. I will not think badly of it if you do. But he dies tonight. There is no more running for him."
Kihta frowned again, silence falling over her before she finally shook her head. "You know that is something I will not do," she finally responding, looking out again - her tone slightly wounded by his decision to keep her ill-informed. "Perhaps if we make it out of this in one piece, we might discuss better techniques in communication. In matters like this, we seemed to have fallen lucky. I cannot see us being lucky forever."
Mitunse took a deep breath after hearing her comment on the matter. He looked to the side as they continued to walk, every so often searching for any signs of patrols, "I have a third party involved that is being paid to administer some ordnance..."
Kihta shot him a look, one he obviously could not see - but him knowing her well, he would very likely know the look of her delicate surprised curiosity. She trusted him. She trusted him with her life, but his lack of communication when it seemed to matter most bothered her in this circumstance. Biting her tongue, she only nodded and continued along.
After a few minutes, they arrived at the outskirts of the ceruleum facility. Although it was a smaller one, it had the heavy smell of its powerful and volatile fuel reserves. Mitsune scanned the walls, "Security is always tight around these places. The one I hired already took out some of them. They should have already planted from explosives around the tanks. When I say this fuel is volatile, I mean it might be the most explosive material I've seen."
"We need to be careful and sneak in. I have a signal for the one in question should we get into any trouble."
Kihta nodded, following Mitsune's lead. She took in what she could of their surroundings - the smell prickling her nostrils in an unsavory fashion. She couldn't help but wonder who this person was he spoke of, but Kihta trusted Mitsune so that was enough for now.
Mitsune saw that one of the side door was opened, more than likely by his contact. He motioned for Kihta to follow as he quickly ran for it. He spoke quickly before entering the facility's dark hallway, "Avoid combat. Only take them down if they spot you. Don't let them say a word and raise the alarm."
Again, the Miqo'te nodded - carefully following after Mitsune as quietly as she could. Light on her feet, she trailed behind, watching their back for any onlookers as she gazed down the shaft of her arrow. "Got it," she whispered to him.
Mitsune entered the smooth metal corridor, lit by light blue lights that led to various areas within the facility. He peered around every corner they came to, trying to not be spotted. A couple of patrols came close, but he was able to pull Kihta to the side with him to avoid them. Something had them startled but not quite on high alert yet. Mitsune seemed to know exactly where he was going, striding forward quickly but making his presence unknown.
They came yet to another hall and at the end of it stairs led up from the depths. Mitsune picked up the pace, walking quickly to the steps. After he met the beginning, he looked up, noticing that they led up to the surface. The dark knight made his way up, arriving at what appeared to be a landing pad used for any Garlean airships that arrived to the facility. The storm was getting restless, thunder crackling upon the skies and lightning striking one of the rods sticking up from a nearby tower.
Kihta followed Mitsune, continuing to be as quiet as she could, though thankful for the storm that raged on which seemed to muffle their footsteps as they climbed the stairs closer to the landing. Looking around, she shuddered as the thunder rumbled loudly overhead. "What now?" She asked, ever so often looking back down the staircase for anyone that might have caught on and followed them.
As soon as she finished her sentence, a few heavily armed soldiers walked up the other side of the landing pad from another flight of stairs. They stopped and inspected Kihta and Mitsune before drawing their weapons. Behind the four bodyguards walked out Aelfgar, as if on cue. He raised his head in disbelief and with a scowling glare spit out, "Hello again, Mits." He pulled free his own sword and held it to his side, "Putting your nose where it doesn’t belong again?"
Nocking an arrow, Kihta aimed between the guards and the man who spoke to Mitsune - going back and forth ever so often; ready to fire at the first one who made a move towards them.
Mitsune said nothing, reaching for his sword and pulling it free as it crackled with violet lightning. He breathed in and out angrily, drawing in the dew from the stormy night air. His body trembled with anger. His eyes started to transform into blood red orbs, swirling with dark magic. He was clearly channeling some kind of new inner power.
Aelfgar looked to Kihta and narrowed his eyes. He tilted his head to inpsect Mitsune's Miqo'te companion before shaking his head, "Gods, Mitsune, you love bringing others into your problems don't you?" He held up his arms and chuckled, "Well I hope you're prepared to die. I'm sorry he dragged you into this mess, miss." Both Mitsune and Kihta could see almost a dozen more soldiers show up. A few of them had rifles and gunblades trained on them from a couple of the nearby towers.
Kihta blinked at Mitsune as he channeled new magicks she had not been familiar with of him before, but quickly returned her attention to the guards and the man speaking directly to her now. Not saying a word back, she trembled slightly at the clear sight of them being outnumbered and clearly outgunned. Suddenly, her arrows felt very insignificant in comparison. With a deep breath, she calmed her nerves the best she could and focused her arrow upon the man.
Mitsune only grinned. He pointed the sword at Aelfgar from across the landing pad. He cackled as some otherworldly power surged through him, "No, Aelfgar. It is you who will meet your bloody end. Every last one of you. For tonight, revenge will be mine." As soon as he finished the sentence, a massive explosion shook the entire facility. The deafening boom shot through all of the cerulean tanks being processed causing an enormous chain reaction that tore the facility apart in only a matter of seconds. A couple of them destroyed the nearby towers, sending a good number of the soldiers upon them to their doom. Another tore the entire landing platform in half, sending all on it tumbling downwards as it all fell slowly towards the ground.
Almost losing her balance in her surprise, Kihta gasped as the explosions set off one after another. Firmly, she continued to stand as tall as she could as she balanced herself out before taking the opportunity to fire a few arrows at some of the guards who did not fall from the landing platform. Sprinting with the grace of an experienced archer, she leapt from her feet, spinning once as she continued her barrage. Two soldiers were struck, one through the chest and the other right through his neck. Aelfgar slammed into the ground, dodging both Kihta’s arrows and a massive piece of metal that came close to shearing him in two.
Mitsune took his clawed gauntlet, slamming into the metal landing pad as it was falling, slicing through and slowing his fall as he trailed down to the first floor of the facility as if he was slicing through a curtain. He arrived at the bottom as it all crashed down. Fire and smoke bellowed all around them forming a fiery battlefield of metal wreckage. A couple of soldier ran towards Mitsune. The dark knight smiled, before it looked like his form blinked forward in some kind of magical charge. The two soldiers both fell into two pieces and blood showered Mitsune as he finished the sword stroke within the blink of an eye.
Kihta lept from one piece of the falling landing pad to the other - making her way to a safe landing somewhere in the midst of battle. Steadying herself carefully, she reassessed the situation as it continued to unfold - praying there wouldn't be any more unexpected explosions. Choosing her set of longer edged daggers over the bow at this point, she slipped through the debris and the clouds it made - carefully picking off what guards she could in the process as she fought her way towards Mitsune in desperation of keeping him in her line of sight in case things took a turn for the worst.
Aelfgar snarled as he stood up, running from the carnage. As he did so, a thamaturge held up his staff as he looked to Mitsune before summoning a massive column or roaring flame that soared at him like a cyclone. Mitsune was engulfed by the fire and the mage chanted to make the fire rage more. However, Mitsune charged from the massive inferno as a dark shield surrounded him. He stabbed the lalafell mage through the chest, lifting him up before kicking the impaled thamaturge to the ground, "Aelfgar! Don't you run from me!" Mitsune yelled at the top of his lungs as he charged after him.
Running through fiery facility after Mitsune, Kihta doubled back the moment she saw the fiery cyclone that seemed to continue on further towards her direction before dissipating. If it wasn't for Mitsune's yell, Kihta would not have known which direction he had gone off into - doing her best to keep with him. Another guard ran out at her, swinging his gunblade at her in which she ducked promptly - only to kick back at him square in the chest. Spinning back around, she sank her blades into his chest as she continued on in pursuit of Mitsune and this Aelfgar.
Mitsune ran through the wreckage hacking down anyone that stood between him and his target. He was covered in blood and he smelled like a bonfire that was lit by ceruleum. He stopped, hearing some large thudding around on a platform overhead. Before he could move any further, a massive six-legged walker smashed into the ground in front of him.
