Thank you for your inquiry! This is Dr. Duckward Duckworth III, PhD and I hope I can answer your question! 

First, I assume you’re talking about Lim Jaebeom of GOT7. Coincidentally he was one of my first subjects and how I got into my current project about foreheads. I’m by no means an expert but I will do my best. My theories are also based a little more in psychology than anything else so I don’t have col, hard facts for you. 

I believe that Jaebeom (further JB) is trying to achieve what we call Triality. Most people are familiar with the concept of Duality, an idol having equal amounts of cute/soft traits and hot/not soft traits. Triality also takes into consideration a third set of traits: death markers. It is my belief that JB’s  end goal is to cause as many deaths as possible by employing both hot AND soft traits at once. 

Observe:

Here we see JB deploying a finger heart which is pretty universally agreed upon as The Cute sign. However, his partial forehead exposure coupled with his arms slightly negates the heart. If you take into account his natural tendency toward hotness and his self proclaimed “I’m not cute, I’m sexy”, the cute heart is completely neutralized. But does the fan feel neutral? Of COURSE not. The fan feels like dying. That’s JB 1, Aghase 0.

Excellent question. My current running theory about this particular craving comes from what I like to call the Toasty Marshmallow Effect.

This effect is illustrated best when Hakyeon is smiling (refer to figure 1 and 2 below).

As you can see illustrated by figure 2, the softer the Hakyeon is, the greater the urge to give him a big hug. This is due to the warm inviting feeling that he radiates at all times. This feeling is similar to the feeling you get when you enjoy a perfectly toasted marshmallow. Warm, sweet, a little nostalgic.

These feelings of course cannot be measured in scientific terms; thus, the Toasty Marshmallow Effect remains a difficult enigma to solve.

Pls explain why Hyuk (vixx) is SO EFFING CUTE. Like.... baby boy cute. 😭😭

Hyuk is an interesting subject that has been a difficult one to crack. How can someone so tol be so smol at the same time? It truly defies the laws of physics. 

I believe this stems from the relative squishiness levels of his cheeks. The higher the squish, the greater the cute. This is particularly highlighted when smiling, bubbling, doing aegyo, or interacting with fuzzy animal friends. 

Now, this squishy factor is intensified by his position as VIXX’s maknae. The love and attention he receives from the other members allows him to truly grow into his role as the cutest noodle. He truly is baby.

Of course this is highlighted even more when contrasted against the times when he is decidedly un-soft. But perhaps that is research for another day.
