     “Minato? Is something wrong?"

     The jonin inquires, resting her hand on her hip. The two had just finished a brief assignment given by the third hokage, to their success. Now that they've arrived at the village gates, she couldn't help but notice his silence. It had her worried—- but he never failed to worry her. ( He was the first person to accept her, and she felt grateful to him. )

     “Don't go shy on me, now." She urges him to speak. "Tell me what's on your mind."

     "Yondaime!" Surprised to see the former Hokage, she halts in her training to politely bow her head. "What are you doing here?"

rare were the times where kakashi was left pondering his words, unsure of how his sensei would react. after all, he wasn’t the violent type right ? ( something his many ennemies would deny but he was lucky enough not to be on the receiving end ) “ it’s a funny one, i’m sure you will laugh. “ good start, he thought to himself. it wasn’t the first time kakashi would be on babysitting duty, it’s the ending of the mission that took a different turn when kushina noticed the book in his hand when naruto was sleeping peacefully beside him. “ i may have let it slip that you went to the hot springs with jiraiya-sama the other day... “ he truly didn’t mean to, really. “ and kushina-san may have decided that naruto and her needed some fresh air. “ even if it was almost midninght, not that he risked telling her that.

     She eyes the wrapped bodies, how they hung by the God Tree. Everybody who was alive was now stuck in their own dreams—- untouched by reality. She & the rest of the reanimated beings have done their part, now the rest was up to Naruto and his team.

     She stands beside her husband, concern in her eyes as she takes a hold of her own arm. Even while reanimated, a mother's worries never came to rest. While she believed in her son, she knew that in time—- they’d have to say goodbye again.

     "Minato," her lips part to speak, as she meets his eyes. “I’m afraid—- afraid to let him go... to leave him again.”

     Now that she was reunited with him, he told her everything: from the events of the war, to their son's message. ( She was glad that Minato was there to help their son; that he was able to see how much he's grown. ) There was nobody better suited to protect & assist their son. Now, their Naruto was a hero, saving the world. ( Just like his parents did. )

     When Minato's lips part with concern of his legacy, a light breath escapes her lips before curling into a gentle smile. Minato Namikaze—- who would forget such a name? He was once a living legend, honoring the title Yellow Flash, leading his team, then becoming Hokage. But, to Kushina:

     He was the love that filled her vessel, her savior & best friend, the man that long believed in her. That was her Minato—- the Minato whose story she'd never forget, even if the rest of the world did.

     "You've done more than enough, Minato.” A lighthearted chuckle, before her tone turns more sentimental. "I can't thank you enough for all you've done... for the village and for our family."

     Her two hands take hold of one of his, helping him come to ease. She looks into his eyes, her own glimmering, hoping he'd believe the words from her heart. Now that they were together again, Kushina had nothing more to fear. Naruto and Konohagakure were safe and Minato had returned to her side. ( She couldn't be happier. )

     "—- Welcome home, Minato."

here’s a little secret for you: i kinda rushed in making kushina because i wanted to interact with you ! i had planned on making her abt a week after i made sarada? i had the url and everything already. my friend’s still making me a theme, and i wanted to wait on it—- but i was just so ?? happy to see a minato so i wanted to !! make kushina right away. thank you for being so kind & welcoming to me and being m’main squeeze. i love you lots and i love writing with you ! thank you, thank you,  thank you, ‘ttebane !

     "—- Eh?”

     She bats her lashes, startled at his words. The beating beneath her chest hastens by his every syllable, her lips are rendered almost speechless. He was asking her out, trying to entwine the invisible knot between them—- to become each other's better half.

     While she held the same feelings for him, she was burdened with thoughts of the beast that resided in her vessel. Would he still love her, knowing the monster residing inside of her? A creature embodying hatred & fear, knowing that it may harm their possible future together, as well as Minato's perception of her—- she was afraid to risk it.

     "Minato, I—- I love you, but..." Her gaze moves to the ground, lips coming to a frown. "I don't think I can give you what you want."
