We are proud that Our creative director, Warren Reilly was invited to feature in this short film by @isabellkinga exploring the histories of brent and our powerful communities! Take a look at this beautiful charcoal portrait of Warren Reilly by @isabellkinga inspired by photography by @zuzu.valla of Warren back in 2019 backstage at @fashionscout - the portrait was commissioned as part of the Past and Present Animation, so it no longer survives, as its existence now rests as part of the animation commissioned by @brentmuseumandarchives for #beingbrent @heritagefunduk ———————————————————————— 🎨🎥💜 Brent Museum and Archives are delighted to share Present Past by Kinga Markus, ‘Being Brent’s’ Artist in Residence. Kinga has created an animated film using over four thousand charcoal drawings, taking the permanent collection at Brent Museum and Archives as her inspiration. Each frame within the animation is hand drawn in charcoal on paper. The work focusses on Kilburn High Road, and explores Kinga’s own memories. She uses items from the collection to tell of growing up and living in a diverse neighbourhood and her own mixed heritage, and time passing. Kinga uses the collection and her own memories to evoke interwoven narratives and a variety of diverse lived experience of a place like Brent.
