Kiliel Week: March 22-28, 2021

Hello and welcome to Kiliel Week!

Kiliel Week is a week-long event celebrating the relationship between a reckless dwarf prince and a star-loving elf captain: Kíli and Tauriel from Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit movie trilogy.

This event began in 2015 and took place twice more in 2016 and 2017, but went on hiatus for a few years after that. But we’re back now with another event in 2021, due to a renewed fan interest in this lovely couple!

Any content and creations about Kíli and Tauriel are welcome! You can create graphics, gifs, fanart, fanfic, fanmixes, and more! This event will run from March 22-28, 2021! Please tag your posts with #kilielweek AND @ mention this blog @kilielweek so they can be easily found. If your submission turns into a long post, please put what you can beneath a “Keep reading” divider.

Below are some (new!) prompts for each day of the week. They are not mandatory, but they are here to inspire you. This page will lead to an explanation for each one.

DAY ONE: Feast of Starlight Kíli and Tauriel’s first meaningful interaction is in the dungeons of Mirkwood, as Tauriel stands guard over the dwarves during the elven Feast of Starlight. It is here that they begin to connect, telling stories to each other about their pasts and their interests, from starlight to fire moons. Today is a day to explore that scene, those first connections, or those interests beyond what we were given in canon. What else did they talk about that night? Did Tauriel come back to visit Kíli another time? How do they return to the subjects of starlight and promises over the course of their relationship?

These prompts are optional, and we are open to any content about Kíli and Tauriel whether or not you stick to our suggestions!
