I’m always so hesitant to say I have a choking kink, because I’m not entirely sure I do. Nothing gets me pissed off faster than a story labeled x reader or reader insert but is clearly just an oc, often named too. Like literally everything is described, from her eye color to the fucking shade of her pussy lips, like FUCK OFF!!! Just because it’s in second pov doesn’t mean it’s x reader! I have no issue with the tall!reader, (race/ethnicity)!reader, plus size!reader, petite!reader, etc, because besides those characteristics, nothing else is ever described, but literally just writing you’re own oc and slapping the x reader tag on it??? Just fuck of 🙄

Is it just me or has fandom lifespan more then halved? Fandoms used to grow and thrive for years before there was any kind of dip in interaction or everything turned to shit. Now you’re lucky if you get two months before a fandom become toxic and everyone leaves because of it. And the worst part is, this doesn’t just effect newer fandoms, it’s bleeding into older ones that have been around forever and ruining them. Every fandom has its drama, but this new toxicity literally tears fandoms apart and makes them intolerable. I don’t understand what’s going on and it’s driving me insane 😤

It’s true!!!!! Scream it from the roof tops 🎙 I was just talking about this with my partner (which is why I haven’t come back to writing yet) about the whiplash of fandoms! I want to do reader inserts again but the trend is changing. It doesn’t last long enough. By the time I’ve finally got to watch or read it, it’s moved on. Nvm!! Should have googled before sending the ask. The reason ao3 was taking me to Cole Cassidy, instead of Jesse McCree, is because Blizzard changed the characters name, since he was named after one of the men involved in the whole sexual harassment scandal… I really don’t like the name change, but I get why they did it. Cole just doesn’t fit him, but I think I can get used to calling him Cassidy or Cass, but there’s no way I’m calling him Cole. Ever. Literally any name would have been better, like Joel or James or, fuck it, even Kyle would have been better than Cole. Cassidy is a very classic cow boy name, so after some time maybe it’ll feel right, but it definitely won’t be as fun McCree :( (Feel free to ignore both messages)

I understand why they changed his name. I get it. BUT I think it’s kind of stupid bc so many people knew him with the name for so like and I kinda don’t like Cassidy. He’ll always be Jesse McCree for me.
