Penny tilts his head at the other, it was rare for someone to be taller then him, even though he sat at a good 6′4. “You wouldn’t happen to have a cigarette, would you?” He find himself asking.

Waylon kept his eyes to the miniature television mounted on the wall in the bar, fingers curling and uncurling around his drink. He usually wasn’t one to small talk with strangers, but if an issue bothered him enough, he found he had poor impulse control but to make a comment.
“A serial killer is only human, though.. They make mistakes, they sometimes intentionally leave trails to be followed, I just..” He paused, shaking his head and looking down into his drink now, opting to try and ignore the news broadcast.
“I don’t know.” He lamely finished, taking a drink to remind himself to stop talking.
He couldn’t preach that the local law enforcement weren’t doing all they could, on the contrary, they were probably working rather hard. But the killer seems to be evading them nonetheless, and as a result, more innocent people were going to turn up dead. Families would be destroyed, lives taken for no good reason. Waylon had an overly strong sense of justice, insistent on sticking his nose in a multitude of places it didn’t belong. But it wasn’t right to criticize things he wasn’t involved in.
Waylon’s legs kicked slowly but impatiently under the bar-stool, toes just barely able to reach the floor. His cane was rested against the bar as well, just by his legs.
“Do you see a lot of this sort of thing, around here?” Waylon looked to the man he sat next to, somewhat surprised by his aloof response to Waylon’s disbelieving comment. Was it so strange to be surprised by such a thing?

“T’at’s cash oop fron’,” Aaron stated as he wrote down something in a ledger. Sliding it toward his newest guest at the inn he glanced up and smiled. “Well, ‘alf t’e cash oop fron’. ‘Ad a few, uh, des’ructive gues’s befer.” He tried to offer a friendly grin (his grandmother always said he looked too nervous) and he passed over a pen. “If ya’ll sign ‘ere Ah’ll ge’ yer keys an’ show ya tae yer room.”

Richie kicked a rock with the toe of his sneakers, causing dust to rise where it bounced and skidded away from the grumpy thirteen year old. Yes, he was pissy, but he just lost five whole bucks from losing so much at his own favorite arcade game - you can't blame a man for being pissy about that! He was about to kick another, much larger, stone before he saw a figure moving about the much more abandoned barrens.
Since It had been defeated, the losers club hadn't gotten much out of the barrens in terms of meetings anymore. "Hey!" Richie yelled, trying to be heard over the water.

Two decades in prison left him difficult to intimidate. He could take care of himself. But even he paused warily in the shadow of a man who had nearly a whole foot on him. With careful movement he angled his head upward until he met the giant’s gaze. “What are you doing around here?” Even caution couldn’t protect him from his own sense of territory. If another gang was moving in on his turf, so close to his lair, he couldn’t allow that.
