Honestly if Alec had to hear the name Magnus Bane fall from his sister’s lips one more time… well, he wasn’t sure what he’d do. He wasn’t sure why she was so obsessed with him. There where much better singers than him, nicer too. Magnus seemed like the guy that was only famous because he could sing well, not because he was nice to his fans or anyone else for that matter. Honestly Alec pitied whoever had that man as a soulmate. Or whoever Magnus had as a soulmate. And of course Izzy wouldn’t stop talking about him because she managed to snag two tickets to see him in concert and then meet him afterwards. Alec knew she was going to take him, mainly because he was the one going to be eighteen and with her only being sixteen, well, she needed someone there and a concert wasn’t as fun with parents like theirs.
Getting Alec dressed a week later, Alec had forgotten all about his soulmark appearing until he heard a gasp from his sister as she pulled his arm out. “Alec, why didn’t you tell me he was your soulmate?!” The screaming, Alec was sure, could be heard from at least a mile away. He rolled his eyes, putting the shirt Izzy picked out on. “It’s probably not even him. Do you know how many people named Magnus Bane there are in the world?” He questioned, desperately hoping there was more than just the one. At the concert later that night, Alec was actually enjoying himself a bit. Magnus’ voice wasn’t nearly all that bad and he was entertaining. After the concert though, Alec was nervous. They had been lead to a room with a few others that were lucky enough to get tickets to meet Magnus and if he knew his sister at all, knew she’d say something about the soulmark and Alec wasn’t surprised when it was their turn and she pulled him towards Magnus and pulled his sleeve up, showing Magnus the mark. “Magnus,” Izzy stated proudly. “I’d like you to meet your soulmate.”
