     Her mind had been preoccupied, thoughts racing and jumping around as she tried to figure out how and what led her to where she was now. The past few days -- no maybe it was weeks? months? Or was it just a few hours? -- had been but a hazy blur. At the woman’s outburst she snapped out of her chaotic, swirling mess of thoughts, slowly looking at her and offering a sympathetic smirk.

           “You ain’t the only one. Trust me,” she admitted, looking around before turning back to the other woman. “Though, unfortunately, if we just start screamin’ like a bunch of wild banshees we’re gonna draw some pretty unwanted attention.” And she for one was not looking for the attention. Not this time. With her mind feeling as though she was high on some unknown drug she couldn’t afford to act out.

Julie was out for blood. Time was an illusion in this world, but it seemed like forever since her last trial. She was beginning to crave the rush of the chase, the satisfaction of a hit, and the power the kill. The moment she caught sight of a survivor, only seconds into the trial, she sprinted at him, knife reared and ready to hit. 

First it was Bill, then Jake, then Jane... She had found and hit all three in less than a minute, and was hungry for the fourth. Her keen senses told her they were far off, a risky run, for sure. She’d likely exhaust herself before she got to them, but that didn’t stop her from trying. 

Julie’s legs felt like lava as she pushed herself in that direction, determined to prove her body wrong. As she got closer, she saw the survivor in the distance and her adrenaline skyrocketed, driving her to move even faster. 

Julie could almost taste the satisfaction as she barreled toward the survivor, who she couldn’t recognize immediately. Fresh meat? She pondered to herself, the thought just enough to distract her. She seemed to realize her close proximity a second too late to slow down. Panicking, she stopped herself suddenly, causing her to tumble forward and slam into the survivor. It was less of a graceful stabbing and more of an aggressive tackling into the wall of the shack. 

“Ahh! Fuck!” She cried out, momentarily stunned from the exhausting sprint and hard fall.

She bites her lip, thinking the question over. Neither of them are people she has anything more than platonic affection for. “I... I guess Sam. Cuz um, Mary’s in a relationship with the Nightmare and I don’t want any part of that.” A pause as she thinks again. “...yeah. Sam,” she finally decides.
