Omg omg I’m so glad you sent this I feel like it is NOT discussed enough. 

In the book it literally says he just slumped in his chair and shrugged at her and was like, “Fine. Make me your villain.” Like he didn’t care at all. And that’s very hot and valid of book!Aleks in his own way but BEN??????

Went an entirely different direction and was like, “Fine.” *sobs* “sniffles* *can’t maintain eye contact* “Make me your villain.” *about to openly weep*

This poor deluded simp of a man really thought he could fix their relationship up until that moment lol and he was not prepared... The angst of these two has me by the throat I swear.

OKAY but that song playing over the laura and sweeney montage?? It's like my brain short-circuited, I had to watch it 3 times to fully take in the lyrics

SAAAME, my friend, same. I can’t get over it. And at how they song choice was so soft and twee...which is amusing to me because, for some reason, I always felt their musical style was more like...Florence and the Machine or something like that. Something angsty and rougher around the edges? With a bit of a dark tone underneath would’ve been my guess, but I think they chose it because it’s Laura remembering Sweeney and to evoke a sense of how vulnerable she feels now without him. 

That song was uncredited, btw, so it makes me wonder if the series literally wrote and recorded this song especially for the Laura/Sweeney montages, which would be such a flex, in how they just went all out for our tall/smol ship. And those montages were so unabashedly shippy...maybe we’re supposed to cringe at that, but I can’t. And I don’t want to!

heyyy I hope you're doing well ☺️ so i decided to start reading RoW because my curiosity got the better of me. I haven't decided my opinion on it yet but i wanted to flail a bit over one line i just read -- it's literal, nothing groundbreaking, and it isn't under dire circumstances but anyway. aleksander has the thought "He wanted to be out of the darkness, back beneath the watery winter sun" .... i died a little 🥺

Omg I’ve seen this line on twitter and it’s got me emotionally compromised haha. I have actually decided I’m going to read it after I got some insight from some friends who’ve read it. I still feel strongly, even based on their statements that it does Darklina dirty, but I’ve got reason to believe that it’s worth the read for the bits about the Darkling himself. That being said, this quote you sent along with “With her, he was human again,” and that one about him feeling something for her he forgot the name of a hundred lifetimes ago (read: LOVE) are both very good Darklina food even if they are just crumbs haha. So I’m feeling a bit better about it overall. I hope you’re enjoying the book!!

I'm kind of hoping that when alina and mal go into hiding, they end up in Ketterdam, even if it's only for a little bit, instead of wherever they are at the beginning of siege and storm I don't remember haha

That would be so exciting 😳 I'd love for us to get to see Ketterdam early haha. Bc right now it seems like in this season the Dregs will mostly be in Ravka. Which is cool! But I want to see the Ketterdam aesthetic 😌

I read the books because of you and DAMN was that a good decision -- I legit teared up in that last scene of the trailer *thE EYE CONTACT ALONE* i cant I haven't been this excited for a tv show in a long time

so I'm just here casually listening to music when adele's I miss you starts playing WOW if that aint one of the most darklina songs ive heard "I miss you when the lights go out--it illuminates all of my doubts--pull me in, hold me tight--don't let go, baby, give me light" like...every. line 🤯

Oh wow I will have to go listen to this... I love finding new Darklina songs :’) Since the trailer all I’ve been doing is listening to “my tears ricochet” and “hoax” and making myself big sad lmao.

I started reading shadow & bone because of you and now im obsessed with the darkling so tHANK YOU FOR THAT (i already know this is not going to end well but here we are) -- but for real im loving this
