*head in hands* v2 from ultrakill
#i miss my wife tails#actually i am so sad about her don't @ me#did its makers ever actually care.#was it ever able to feel fulfilled#there's no way it was at peace when it died#of course it didn't want to die any more than v1 but at least v1 gets to feel satisfied with itself and its purpose#v2 does nothing but compromise and i can't imagine it's content with that#even if humanity wasn't dead would it have ever been used?#there's only one like it in the world#made explicitly just to make money#did anyone care if it would actually be able to do anything meaningful or was it doomed from the start??#of course it's extremely competent#but extremely competent at.. what exactly?#killing things?#v1 is just better at that#surviving things?#v1 is also just better at that#i see why v2 was designed the way it is in theory#no need for vampire plating if it's not meant to be covered in soldier's blood all the time#maybe it was even intentionally made more personable#given values like honor and vengeance#and the ability to display human-like emotions like pride and anger#but just about everything that set it apart from v1 hindered it in the end#i suppose you could argue it has very unique ingenuity in creating a new arm(s) for itself?#but it almost discards that on its own and figures taking v1's strategies will serve it better#would it be too dramatic to say v2 thinks of itself as a cheap imitation of v1#and that's why it assumes v1's approach is better even though it would probably make more sense to develop its own unique arsenal#maybe i am making it too human#it's just that copying v1's moves comes off as so insecure???#i am not sure how else to read that lol
