Killing Wave?

In my opinion, the full art foil Game Day promo version of Killing Wave is one of the most beautiful full-art promos ever printed.

Also, h*ck angels.

Liliana Week: Killing Wave

“A plane full of angels.  I hate angels.” -Liliana Vess

The latest card I’ve done that features Liliana.  As with the previous posts, here are sketches, and reference.  There’s something about Liliana that seems to bring out a need to do some 3D modeling.  And a ton of research.  For this piece, I built an articulated and animitable full angel skeleton.  According to my admittedly limited knowledge and calculations, this is actually a plausible skeletal system that would allow for human sized flight.  With muscle and everything, it’d make for a somewhat non-traditional looking angel.

I’d write and post a bit more, but there’s a lot of Gen Con happening right now.
