au inspired by @h0urglcss 's professional greifers killjoy au and taking a little bit of ideas from undertale as well

-G3R4RD was a human who fought with mechs for BLI/nd

-rose up the ranks to become a top fighter and a fan favorite entertainer for the citizens of battery city, which also made him a good distraction from corruption

-their body was crushed and destroyed in the mv fight, but they couldn't afford to lose their star distractor

-get together a team that rebuilds them into a robot that can pass as human, original gerard was always a little rebellious, and they decided they couldn't risk it and wanted full control of this new machine, only for it to have the outward appearance of gerard

-a "rebel" (frank) in the programming team inserts Gerard's original soul into the machine (<- thats the undertale part)

-G3R4RD is born, living under full control of their programmers

-frank becomes their repairman, both for their mech and for them themselves

-maybe something a little more romantic than just repairs going on there ifykwim

-mikey is a star fighter in a rebel group that uses mech fights to cover their meetings

-ray is mikey's mechanic

-mikey and G3R4RD are still brothers in this au, gerard's death and replacement is what caused Mikey to become a rebel

-G3R4RD hates being a city distraction but can't do much because he's under constant surveillance

-Frank gets in contact with Ray and together they concoct a plan to get G3R4RD out, G3R4RD refuses this plan, wanting to incite rebellion from the heart of the city

that's all I have so far but I wanted to post it, defo not complete I made this on the fly while simultaneously roleplaying as G3R4RD (before I had their story worked out)

also!! quickly editing this to say if the creator of the original au wants this down just lmk and I can delete it! idrk the rules as far as posting about things like this go so I wanted to add this in lmfao

I’m writing a Danger Days fic series called “Static Mind” (first fic in the series is also called that) where Party Poison is epileptic, and has both convulsive and non convulsive seizures. The way I’m writing it will be that, being a city-born Killjoy, the city pills Party grew up taking kinda just “blocked” any signs of epilepsy (they showed some signs in early childhood, this will be explained at some point in the series), so they and Kobra had no way of knowing that they’re epileptic.

The title “Static Mind” refers to the way Poison’s brain feels when the seizures are about to happen (“It kinda feels like m’ brain’s a radio; when the seizures are gonna start, all I feel’s static”).

I’m going for Party Poison as the one to have epilepsy because I think it’d be an interesting idea to have the leader of The Fab Four have grand mal and absence seizures and still be a total badass of a Killjoy. I’m also fairly experienced with seizures (both of my parents have seizures, as do I but mine are more so a psychological thing), so I guess I’m projecting a bit.

I also think it’d be interesting to see how having epilepsy could affect a Killjoy’s ability to fight against BL/ind.

Another thing I want to add is how some people with epilepsy allow close friends to make lighthearted jokes about their seizures in the form of Poison seizing and Fun Ghoul just saying “So that’s what a fish outta water looks like” or something to that effect. If Ghoul is all for dark humor, I imagine he’d do that and would probably share the comment with Poison after the seizure, knowing that the latter won’t kill him for it because they’re okay with it.

So yeah, if anyone’s interested, “Static Mind” will be on AO3. I don’t see much epilepsy rep so I kinda want to do that.

Sometimes I feel like I’m trapped in an infinite loop (möbius strip?) of story ideas, where any stray thought from my brain or comment from my friends sends another AU idea hurtling at me 😂

The Mermaid AU begat various pirate AUs, including the Pirates of the Caribbean AU, which has now begotten…a Killjoys AU (because of course!)

There are a dozen or more key characters for the plot of the series, so we have to pull from here and there… (There’s also a detailed and well-crafted universe and “mythology,” which means I’m very unlikely to ever actually write this…) As always, fellow author/Killjoys fan @persevereforahappyending was very helpful with character mapping suggestions!

Yelena is Yalena “Dutch” Yardeen, the badass with the mysterious past.

Kate is Johnny Jaqobis. (And I shipped them, even though they chose not to go there, so were I ever to write this, it’d of course be Bishova…).

Melina is Khlyen, because we love Melina (and Khlyen is shifty and morally ambiguous in all the best ways, but ultimately trying to keep Dutch safe).

Which makes Dreykov The Lady…

And here’s my first fun twist: Natasha as Aneela!

Clint can be D’avin, Johnny’s older brother.

Valentina would be Delle Seyah Kendry.

Bucky could be Pree, the ex-warlord-turned-bar-owner, and Sam could be the new bartender Pree hires who becomes his lover/boyfriend.

Maybe Ava as Pawter (the Qreshi heiress slumming it as a doctor on a backwater moon)? 😢 Bob as Alvis, the militant/monk? 😢 Alexei as Fancy, an asshole Killjoy and one of Khlyen’s men?

Walker as one of the Company hardasses on Westerly? Or as Turin, the senior RAC officer distrustful of both Khlyen and Dutch/Johnny/D’avin.

Maybe Rick Mason can be Bellus the warrant broker?

Lucky the Pizza Dog as Lucy the ship’s AI 😂

Also, since I would change things and do Dutch/Johnny, I certainly wouldn’t let Nat (Aneela) end up with Val (Delle Seyah) 😂 So Nat could end up with Clint (since Aneela and D’avin have a kid)…
