Even as the rest of the common room cleared of students, one single seventh year remained on one of the couches next to the fire. The young woman had a book in her hand, but upon closer observation, one would notice that she was not actually reading it. Emmeline was on edge. Anytime another student got too close, her body would go rigid, her eyes glaring until the other person left. She had her things spread out on the couch, preventing anyone from sitting beside her. And so as the common room finally cleared of the last student, she finally relaxed into her seat, her mind finally focusing enough to read the book in her hand.
