New beginning

Shawna walked aimlessly throughout the massive Mikaelson mansion after another sleepless night. Her first few nights after turning had scarred her so badly that even now she’s unable to sleep until she walks throughout the entire house before sleeping. It was a technique to help her sleep and a distraction from wanting blood. Tonight was different. No craving, no bloodlust, no “crazy eyes”, just a little insomnia.

As she made her way over to the kitchen, the young hybrid caught a glimpse of a shadowy figure lurking in a chair in the library. Thankfully, in this house, only one Mikaelson does that.

“Elijah, why are you sitting there in the dark?”

Another year, another new start.  Despite his status as lone wolf, Samuel was still more or less at the Marrok's beck and call. And when Bran had lost contact with the Alpha of New Orleans, Samuel had started the process of getting his medical license approved in Louisiana. An arduous process that had required an obscene amount of paperwork, but it had been done, and Samuel was about to finish up his last shift as a clerk at a local shop in favor of a position at one of the city's hospitals.

But he was getting ahead of himself. He did, after all, still need to finish out his last shift.  A fact which he was reminded of as the door opened, the attached bell chirping out a merry little jingle.  Plastering a mild, polite smile on his features, the wolf looked to the door.  

"Hey,” he greeted pleasantly, “ how can I help you today? “

Night Talks

For all her desire to escape the constant near death experiences, it felt strange to be picked up and transplanted away from the action. Even more strange being mostly kept in the dark.  After putting Hope to bed, she slipped outside to the old wrap around porch, taking a seat on an old swing letting herself rock back and forth while she gazed out into the darkness. As long as the windows were secure and she and Elijah were at the house nothing would happen to the child. She knew that she didn’t even have a clue of the very real danger they were all in.  For now, they were okay though and that had to be enough.

The sound of the door opening, signaled that she was no longer alone. She didn’t have to look to know who it was. She had a pretty good feeling considering the limited options.  A smile spread across her features as she kicked back on the porch swing once more, barefoot moving in front of her. “I figured you could use a break from me being inside your head,” she mused softly. “Are you going stir crazy in the silence too?”
